The comparison between Pedri and Bellingham has been raging on since the Englishman joined Real Madrid last season. There are other incredible midfielders in football today, but Pedri and Bellingham have been the two names echoing in modern football. Last season was tough for Pedri as he kept on picking up injuries, which in turn limited the game time because of the injuries, and I can remember vividly well seeing a clip of Pedri carrying when he picked up an injury just barely a month after recovering from past injury.

Bellingham, on the other hand, was having an incredible season with Real Madrid as he was scoring a lot of goals for the Galacticos. It was clear back then that Bellingham was a better midfielder than Pedri, but there was one sentence FC Barcelona fans made last season and it was “Wait for a fully fit Pedri”. It sounded funny at first because Pedri was most time out for a month, and when he recovered, he had little effect on the game. Although the quality was there, as he was not scoring a lot of goals like Bellingham, it was believed that he was not close up in ranking to Bellingham.

This season has changed and has proved that goals and assists don't define what the midfielder brings to the team, but rather how the midfielder controls the midfield And dictates the game, which is what Pedri has been doing this season. Pedri has won Man of the Match 15 times this season, and in some of the matches, he didn't score or assist in the match but was voted because of how he performed on the pitch. Pedri has shown us what we missed for a long which is a proper ball-playing midfielder on the pitch.

Bellingham, on the other hand, has been a shadow of himself this season. The Englishman has not been scoring goals which has affected his all round of play this season. The ability to control and dictate the game is not one of Bellingham's attributes on the pitch, and I have seen it multiple times as what he knows best is to run around throughout the match, showing he is putting the work on the pitch. Pedri, in the span of one week, broke the record of the highest possession won in Laliga, and three days later, he broke his own record, which is insane.

This season has opened so many eyes about how the two are not comparable to each other as Pedri is looking miles clear of Bellingham. It won't be a surprise if Pedri makes the top 8 for the Ballon d'Or list this year. The EL Clasico this weekend will be interesting to watch as we will be seeing those two go head to head against each other for the Copa Del Rey trophy. It is going to be an interesting weekend and I am looking forward to seeing how that match will end. So this is where I drop my pen. Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.
