Les quiero compartir mi cambio de Windows a Linux Mint.
Bien, siempre he sido usuario de Windows por muchos años. No conocía otro sistema operativo que no fuera Windows. Yo estaba muy acostumbrado a usar Windows en mi primera laptop que está al lado izquierdo de la foto y al lado derecho pueden ver a mi otra laptop con Linux Mint instalado.El portátil que está al lado izquierdo me lo dieron con Ubuntu. Yo estaba muy feliz con ese regalo, pero no sabía cómo funciona Ubuntu. Tenía problemas con el sonido, también no quería conectarse al wifi normalmente. Así que desesperado sin poder resolver eso, busqué la forma de instalarle Windows y le instalé Windows 11 y eso fue un grave error. No se arregló el problema del audio, pero sí el problema del wifi, pero bueno, era algo. Con el tiempo el portátil se sentía algo lento y estuve pensando una alternativa como sistema operativo empecé a aprender y a ver videos de Linux y me pareció una buena idea ponerle Linux Mint aunque Linux Mint está construido a base de Ubuntu lo probé y me funciona de maravilla me pareció más sencillo que Ubuntu. Linux Mint también tiene un poco de parecido al Windows de los viejos por lo amigable que es.
I want to share with you my switch from Windows to Linux Mint. Well, I've been a Windows user for many years. I didn't know any other operating system besides Windows. I was very used to using Windows on my first laptop, which is on the left side of the photo, and on the right side you can see my other laptop with Linux Mint installed. The laptop on the left side was given to me with Ubuntu. I was very happy with that gift, but I didn't know how Ubuntu worked. I had problems with the sound, and it didn't want to connect to Wi-Fi normally. So, desperate and unable to solve that, I looked for a way to install Windows and installed Windows 11, which was a serious mistake. The audio problem wasn't fixed, but the Wi-Fi problem was, so that was something. Over time, the laptop felt a bit slow, and I started thinking about an alternative operating system. I began learning about Linux and watching videos about it, and I thought it would be a good idea to install Linux Mint. Although Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, I tried it and it works great for me. I found it easier to use than Ubuntu. Linux Mint is also a bit similar to the old Windows because it is so user-friendly.
Para poder tomar la decisión de cambiarme a Linux, tenía que ver que los programas que usaba en Windows funcionaran en Linux. Afortunadamente, todo me va muy bien en Linux Mint. Solo usaba esa laptop para aprender cosas de programación, desarrollo de videojuegos, pixelart y escribir música.
In order to make the decision to switch to Linux, I had to see that the programs I used on Windows would work on Linux. Fortunately, everything is going very well for me on Linux Mint. I only used that laptop to learn about programming, video game development, pixel art, and writing music.
El Godot me va bastante bien mejor que con Windows.

También aprendí a escribir código de Python directamente en la terminal de Linux; es sencillo.

El visual estudio code me sirve muy bien.

También con juegos Linux Mint no se queda atrás. La estuve probando con Minecraft y va decente.

Bien puedo decir que Linux Mint es una de las distribuciones de Linux más fáciles de aprender. Con el Linux Mint pude resolver los problemas que tenía la laptop con el sonido, algo que con Windows no hubiera podido hacer sin duda. Puedo decir que Linux le gana a Windows. No solo quería probar Linux Mint, he querido aprender algo de Arch Linux, pero es muy complicado para poder aprender rápido, así que decidí quedarme con Linux Mint. En mi primera laptop pienso cambiarle el Windows 7 a algún Linux porque quisiera probar otras distribuciones. En algún momento veré si hago el cambio.
I can safely say that Linux Mint is one of the easiest Linux distributions to learn. With Linux Mint, I was able to solve the sound problems I was having with my laptop, something I definitely couldn't have done with Windows. I can say that Linux beats Windows. I didn't just want to try Linux Mint, I wanted to learn something about Arch Linux, but it's too complicated to learn quickly, so I decided to stick with Linux Mint. On my first laptop, I plan to switch from Windows 7 to some version of Linux because I want to try other distributions. At some point, I'll see if I make the switch.
