In Soviet times, a garage for motorists was some kind of often unattainable dream. But if it was possible to get such a structure, then it was something like a treasure. Even now in Russia you can often hear jokes about garages. Many men just try to spend all their free time in the garage instead of being with their family. Often the garage is located at a great distance from the place of residence. What do men do in the garage? They rest there body and soul. If a man's hands grow from the right place, then he is doing his favorite thing in the garage - inventions, assembly and disassembly of various mechanisms.
A couple of days ago I visited a friend's garage like this.
Yes, I will say right away that some men go to the garage just to drink alcohol. But my friend is not one of them.

I haven't been to a place like this for a long time. I don't have a garage myself, I don't like to repair a car. I used to repair my car myself, it was a simple Lada, and now I give my car to a car repair shop for maintenance.
Why did I write about alcohol? A man came to a friend and asked him for vodka. A friend had a capacity of 5 liters with vodka. A man brought a motorcycle chain to a friend, and a friend gave him vodka. Barter.
This motorcycle was assembled by a friend with his own hands. Now he is collecting spare parts to restore the motorcycle of the 50s - IZH Planeta.
He will use this motorcycle for entertainment in the forest and off-road. He will not be registered in the traffic police. To ride on the roads, a friend needs to pass a special motorcycle check in a special office.






A friend bought this motorcycle recently for almost cheap. This is IZH Planet 3. On this motorcycle, he can already ride on public roads, he has a registration number. I think this motorcycle is already about 30 years old or even more. Such motorcycles were very popular in Soviet times. It has been preserved in very good condition!



This is not just a garage for storing a car, it is a real workshop! There is even a car lift so that the suspension and other components of the car can be repaired. A friend was just doing a little repair of his car.
I must admit that I had a garage when I bought a car. But it was far from home and it was very inconvenient to use it, so I sold it. I have other interesting things to do instead of sitting in the garage. But I am very happy for my friend that in this way he can realize his need to do something with his own hands. I was in his garage 2 years ago and I didn't see any motorcycles.
Yes, one more detail. I brought him wheel for a motorcycle, which he decided to restore. Once upon a time, a motorcycle was bought by his grandfather and it was a treasure at that time. Now a lot of spare parts are needed for its restoration. Spare parts are very difficult to find and they are expensive. But a friend decided to do it.
