Kürzlich hatte ich auf einer Rückreise die Gelegenheit, die schöne Gegend um Sexau kennen zu lernen. Bevor wir die Heimreise antraten, beschlossen wir, auf dem dortigen Wohnmobilstellplatz zu übernachten. Die charmante baden-württembergische Gemeinde in der Nähe von Freiburg markiert den Übergang vom Schwarzwald zur Rheinebene. 🚐🌲

Recently, on a return trip, I had the opportunity to get to know the beautiful area around Sexau. Before heading home, we decided to spend the night at the RV park there. The charming Baden-Württemberg community near Freiburg marks the transition from the Black Forest to the Rhine plain. 🚐🌲

Vom Wohnmobilstellplatz aus konnte ich die mächtigen Ruinen der Festung hoch über Sexau sehen, deren Wurzeln, wie ich recherchiert habe, bis ins 11. Jahrhundert zurückreichen. Direkt neben der Ruine befindet sich ein Museum, das die Geschichte von Sexau und der Umgebung näher beleuchtet. Der Besucher kann hier in vergangene Zeiten eintauchen und die jahrhundertelange Entwicklung der Gemeinde nachvollziehen. Leider konnte ich die Ruine und das Museum aufgrund einiger Umstände nicht besuchen. 🏛️📜

From the RV park, I could see the mighty ruins of the stronghold high above Sexau, whose roots, according to my research, go back to the 11th century. A museum that takes a closer look at the history of Sexau and the surrounding area is located right next to the ruins. Visitors can immerse themselves in past times here and understand the centuries-long development of the community. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the ruin and the museum due to some circumstances.🏛️📜

Faszinierend ist, dass Sexau bereits im Jahr 862 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Diese lange Geschichte spiegelt sich in der Architektur und Kultur der Gemeinde wider und verleiht ihr einen besonderen Charakter. 🕰️📚

It is fascinating that Sexau was first mentioned in documents as early as 862. This long history is reflected in the architecture and culture of the community and gives it a special character. 🕰️📚

Ich kann Sexau und seine Umgebung wegen der Mischung aus Geschichte, natürlicher Schönheit, Ruhe und der Nähe zur Autobahn sehr empfehlen. Vor allem für Durchreisende, die über die Schweiz oder Frankreich nach Deutschland ein- oder ausreisen, ist dieser Ort eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, die wunderschöne Landschaft Baden-Württembergs zu erleben.

I can highly recommend Sexau and its surroundings for its mix of history, natural beauty, tranquility and proximity to the highway. Especially for transients entering or leaving Germany via Switzerland or France, this place is a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful landscape of Baden-Württemberg.

The RV park ...

... ist ein gepflegter, kostenloser Stellplatz für 3 Wohnmobile am Rande des Dorfes, der ganzjährig genutzt werden kann. Der Platz ist asphaltiert und weitgehend eben. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich ein Kinderspielplatz, ein Kneippbecken und eine Skateboardanlage, wodurch es tagsüber etwas laut werden kann. Öffentliche Toiletten befinden sich etwa 100 Meter entfernt am Feuerwehrhaus. An der Zufahrtsstraße zum Platz gibt es eine Pizzeria. In der Nähe gibt es eine Bücherkiste. Hier kannst du kostenlos etwas zum Lesen finden oder gelesene Bücher für andere hinterlassen. Der Platz ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für ausgewiesene Wanderungen und Radtouren in der schönen Umgebung.

... is a well-maintained, free pitch for 3 motorhomes on the outskirts of the village, which can be used all year round. The site is asphalted and largely level. Adjacent there is a children's playground, a Kneipp pool and a Skateboard facility, which can make it a bit noisy during the day. Public toilets are located about 100 meters away at the fire station. There is a pizzeria on the access road to the square. Nearby is a book box. Here you can find something to read for free or leave read books for others. The place is a good starting point for marked hikes and bike tours in the beautiful surroundings.
