Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosque | Ayasofya & Sultan Ahmet Camii (En - Tr)

🇬🇧 Hello friends. Last Saturday, on April 9, I went to the historical peninsula for iftar dinner with my wife. Actually, I had to teach at school on Saturday morning, I was working and I came home at 3 PM. I was quite tired and when I arrived I only came to my senses after sleeping for two hours.

We left the house at 18.00 for the iftar dinner at 19.40. We did not make a reservation at any restaurant. Our aim was not to eat, but to see Hagia Sophia. I had never visited Hagia Sophia when it was a museum. I had never been able to go because of some laziness and some intense work tempo.

While I was sleeping at home, my wife made two half bread rolls. Enough for iftar. Our intention was to take two glasses of water from the kiosk where we went, and spread the blanket we brought from home on the grass between Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia.

But before dinner, we entered Hagia Sophia for the evening prayer. It was my first time in Hagia Sophia. It was bigger than what I saw on TV.

I did not like the attitude of the congregation in Hagia Sophia. Before the adhan was read, it was not appropriate for mosque etiquette that some people broadcast live on their mobile phones and talk loudly with their friends.

The shortcomings of Hagia Sophia as a mosque are still unsolved. For example, the distinction between men and women that we see in normal mosques has not been made yet. The fact that the interior ceiling walls of Hagia Sophia, which we attach great importance to the nation, leak droplets due to steam, also shows that the ventilation problem has not been solved. These kinds of problems can be solved, I believe, I hope that the care shown while opening will be shown after opening.

When the adhan was read, we sipped water in the mosque, prayed and went out. Before we came, we found an empty grass as we dreamed, spread our cover and ate our iftar meal on it. However, we were afraid that we would not find a suitable place to sit. Lots of local and foreign tourists were eating their iftar meals on the grass, sidewalks and benches under the open air moon view. We got involved too.

Half an hour later, our meal was over and we first walked towards Gulhane Park, but the weather got a little cold as we went down to the sea. We turned back without going too far and walked slowly in the opposite direction from Gülhane to Fındıkzade. Then we got on the tram and came home.

It was a nice trip for us, I think it will manage us for a while. Because it has become very difficult to go from one place to another in Istanbul. Due to the increasing foreign migration, it became very difficult to get on the public transportation vehicles, especially on the tram.

🇹🇷 Merhaba arkadaşlar. Geçen cumartesi günü an, 9 Nisan tarihinde eşimle beraber iftar yemeği için tarihi yarımadaya gittik. Aslında cumartesi sabah okulda ders vermem gerekti, çalışıyordum ve eve 15.00 gibi geldim. Oldukça yorgundum ve geldiğimde iki saat uyuyarak ancak kendime geldim.

19.40'taki iftar yemeği için 18.00'da evden çıktık. Herhangi bir restorantta rezervasyon yapmamıştık. Amacımız yemek yemek değildi zaten, Ayasofya'yı görmekti. Ayasofya'yı müze iken hiç ziyaret edememiştim. Biraz üşengeçlik, biraz da yoğun çalışma temposu yüzünden hiç gidememiştim.

Ben evde uyurken eşim iki tane yarım ekmek arası yapmış. İftar için yeterli. Gittiğimiz yerde büfeden iki tane su alıp evden getirdiğimiz örtüyü Sultanahmet ile Ayasofya arasındaki çimlere serip orturmaktı niyetimiz.

Ama yemekten önce Akşam namazı için Ayasofya'ya girdik. İlk defa Ayasofya'ya girmiştim. Televizyonlarda gördüğümden daha büyüktü içerisi.

Ayasofya içerisinde cemaatin tavırları hiç hoşuma gitmedi. Ezan okunmadan önce bazılarının cep telefonlarından canlı yayın açıp arkadaşlarıyla bağıra bağıra konuşmaları cami adabına hiç uygun değildi.

Ayasofya'nın cami olarak eksik yönleri hala giderilmemiş. Normal camilerde gördüğümüz kadın-erkek ayrımı henüz yapılmamış mesela. Milletçe çok önem verdiğimiz Ayasofya'nın iç tavan duvarlarının buhardan dolayı damlacık damlacık akıtması da havalandırma sorununun çözülmediğini gösteriyor. Çözülür bu türlü sorunlar, inanıyorum, açarken gösterilen ihtimam açıldıktan sonra da gösterilir diye umut ediyorum.

Ezan okununca camide suyu yudumlayıp namazı kılıp dışarı çıktık. Gelmeden evvel hayal ettiğimiz gibi boş bir çimen bulup, örtümüzü serip üzerinde iftar yemeğimizi yedik. Oturacak uygun yer bulamayacağımızdan da korkmuştuk oysa ki. Yerli yabancı bir sürü turist çimenlerin, kaldırımların ve bankların üzerinde açık havadaki ay manzarasının altında iftar yemeklerini yiyorlardı. Biz de araya karıştık.

Yarım saat sonra yemek keyfimiz bitmişti ve önce Gülhane Parkı'na doğru yürüdük ama denize doğru indiğimiz için hava biraz soğumuştu. Fazla ilerlemeden geri döndük ve ters istikamette Gülhane'den Fındıkzade'ye kadar yavaş yavaş yürüdük. Sonra tramwaya binip eve geldik.

Güzel bir geziydi bizim için, bir süre bizi idare eder diye düşünüyorum. Zira İstanbul'da bir yerden bir yere gitmek çok zor olmaya başladı. Artan yabancı göçü sebebiyle toplu taşıma araçlarına binmek, hele tramwaya binmek oldukça zorlaştı.
