Street photography with flash

in Photography2 years ago

I began to study this direction in street photography from the beginning of this year. I already understand how flash works and how it affects the picture. But I didn't have time to study absolutely all aspects.

For example, I still can't shoot with a flash in a snowfall. Either it doesn’t snow, or I’ll forget the flash at home.

And this time the snow ended as soon as I went outside.

There is an interesting point when working with a flash - the intentional creation of overexposure.

Yes, soon I will tackle the theme of "overexposure as a creative technique".

In street photography, human figures are often depicted as a completely black silhouette.

The silhouette emphasizes the shape of the body, face, gives out characteristic features.

The fully overexposured part of body, the human figure, works the same way as a silhouette.

I also noticed that any photo will be boring if it is captured without some kind of creative trick.

As soon as any creative technique, approach, style comes into play, photography immediately becomes more artistic and begins to play on perception in a new way.

But creative techniques must be applied not with the mind, but unconsciously, by intuition. Then they won’t give themselves away.
