[ENG-SPN] Autumn and maturity / El otoño y la madurez

Those who practice the noble art of Symbology affirm that autumn is inextricably associated with maturity: that period, unfortunately late, to which the great Spanish poet, Antonio Machado, referred, with resigned commiseration, in those unforgettable verses that stated, with resounding severity, that 'our hours are minutes when we wait to know and centuries when we know what can be learned'.

Autumn, then, like maturity, are also complementary to that no less interesting archetypal element, the pier, which, like Vincent Van Gogh's metaphorical starry night, awaits us, without remission, at the end of our path, where The ship that will not return awaits us: the same one that Tolkien placed at the disposal of the long-suffering Bilbo and inside whose interior, heroes and villains, indistinctly, unite destiny on their inevitable journey to the West.

Afirman, aquellos que practican el noble arte de la Simbología, que el otoño está asociado, indisolublemente, con la madurez: ese periodo, desgraciadamente tardío, al que hacía referencia, con resignada conmiseración, el gran poeta español, Antonio Machado, en aquellos inolvidables versos que afirmaban, con rotunda severidad, que ‘nuestras horas son minutos cuando esperamos saber y siglos cuando sabemos lo que se puede aprender’.

El otoño, pues, como la madurez, son complementarios, también, de ese no menos interesante elemento arquetípico, el embarcadero, que, como la metafórica noche estrellada de Vincent Van Gogh, nos aguarda, sin remisión, al final de nuestro camino, donde nos espera la nave que no ha de tornar: aquella misma que puso Tolkien a disposición del sufrido Bilbo y en cuyo interior, héroes y villanos, indistintamente, unen destino en su inevitable viaje hacia el Oeste.
