[ENG-SPN] The seductive Puebla de Sanabria / La seductora Puebla de Sanabria

One of the most picturesque villages in Zamora, and by extension, in Spain, is located on the banks of a river, the Tera, which is as rich in legends as those others, which, a few kilometers further on, thrill and fascinate at the same time, giving even more relevance to a portentous natural feature, which is, without a doubt, the mysterious and mythical Lake of Sanabria.

Lands that, bordering Orense and looking with a certain nostalgia toward Portugal, still preserve many mysteries and, in many cases, also evidence of the unprecedented interest of a medieval order of chivalry, which, for some unorthodox reason, was often predisposed to settle in the vicinity of ancient places of worship, even if they had to exchange part of their prized possessions elsewhere: the Templars.

Places like Mombuey and Sejas de Sanabria, among others, still evoke them, although the places they once lived are partially or completely destroyed. Fortunately, this is not the case with the magnificent medieval architecture of some towns, which, as in this case, still retain practically intact that solid yet subtle ancestral charm, captivating and captivating any traveler lucky enough to gaze upon them.

Uno de los pueblos más pintorescos de Zamora y por extensión, de España se encuentra situado a la vera de un río, el Tera, que es tan abundante en leyendas, como aquellas otras, que, algunos kilómetros más adelante, estremecen y a la vez fascinan, dándole aún más relevancia a un portentoso accidente natural, como es, sin duda alguna, el misterioso y mítico Lago de Sanabria.

Tierras, que, colindantes con Orense y mirando con cierta nostalgia hacia Portugal, conservan, todavía, muchos misterios y en no pocos casos, además, la constancia del interés inaudito de una orden medieval de caballería, que, por alguna heterodoxa circunstancia, solía tener la predisposición a instalarse en la vecindad de lugares de culto antiguo, aunque para ello tuvieran que permutar parte de sus preciadas posesiones en otros lugares: los templarios.

Lugares como Mombuey o Sejas de Sanabria, entre otros, todavía los recuerdan, aunque los lugares que habitaron están parcial o totalmente destruidos, cosa, que, por fortuna, no ocurre con la magnífica arquitectura medieval de algunas villas, que, como en el presente caso, todavía mantienen prácticamente intacta esa sólida aunque sutil seducción ancestral, que cautiva y enamora al viajero que tiene la suerte de posar en ellas la mirada.
