LMAC #38 - The Final Poll! Vote for your favorite entries and help decide who the winners will be! [94 HIVE to be awarded]
Welcome everyone to the final dPoll of Round 38 of Let's Make a Collage!
With 39 original collages, this week's LMAC once again experienced a great participation! Further to that, our community has welcomed 15 new members since last week, now counting 168 LMACians!
❗❗Before going into the poll, it's a pleasure to announce that this week the LMAC is able to distribute a record community bonus of 44 HIVE, raising this round's prize pool to a total of 94 HIVE!
This enormous increase is thanks to those fellow LMACians who set the LMAC community as 20% beneficiary in their entry posts. I cannot emphasize enough how important I believe the community bonus is for the growth of the LMAC as a whole. There are many aspects that are important to make the LMAC community attractive for as many Hivers as possible. But to be set for growth the potential rewards need to grow organically as the number of participants increases. Only then are the incentives set right for each LMACian to spread the word and thus to help growing the community. This is what the community bonus really is about.
So make sure you all continue to set the LMAC (@hive-174695) as 20% beneficiary in your contributions. The community will thank you for it!

librepensadora is right. The voting system of this contest could be better and it feels really unfair. Probably this is my last entry. I don't want to create pressure, but it feels like this contest is not to win with skills but only with votes from hive friends. I think the only fair solution that's possible is choosing a jury and not letting users vote anymore.

Thank you for your candid feedback.
The claim that skills are key to win this contest was never made.
Think it through and please come back to me you when you found the solution to ensure a fair outcome in an art contest. Especially when it is intended to allow a community driven outcome with non-verified accounts. A definition of fair would already be quite helpful.
If you suggest to instead let a jury decide, just consider the possibility that those entries which you'd consider the most artful & skilled ones may still not make it on the podium. What then? Is it then the wrong jury which apparently lacks the right appreciation of skills?
I don't deny that we have participants who are quite effective in rallying their communities for support. The current threshold of 250 HP I believe is efficient to protect the poll from bot votes but it doesn't prevent popularity from becoming an increasingly relevant factor. Now, popularity doesn't fall from the sky but usually results from engagement. And rewarding engagement is quite at the heart of what I intend to achieve with the LMAC. However, we all know that on our platform all sorts of deals can be made to basically bypass actual popularity by means of direct or indirect monetary favors (vote4vote etc.). I have no indication that this has already an undue influence on our polls but I can assure you that I'll do my best to make sure that it never comes to that.
With that being said, I'm thinking a lot about how to best adapt the flow of our contest to the recent surge in participation. That's why your and @librepensadora 's feedback is really helpful and much appreciated!

Excuse me for taking up the issue of voting, but I think that last time I did not explain myself correctly.
The current voting system of this contest is neither balanced nor correct.
My proposal to improve the voting system is as follows:
1.- Only those who have participated with a Collage and meet the conditions required for it should vote. It is happening that those who have friends in Hive ask them to come to vote just to win, and perhaps they do not have the merits for it. Many here have no friends or sponsors, so even if they present a good job, they would never get a good place with the current system.
2.- dpoll is a good method, but it is necessary to restrict the number of votes per person. A maximum of 3 votes per person is sufficient. I see that some vote for a single person and others, up to 21. That is crazy.
3.- It is not correct for us to vote for ourselves. Among the three votes allowed should not be our own.
We withdrew from Steemit, because we saw things turn cloudy. The best we can do with Hive is to march down the legal path, with the greatest democracy and equality for all. Isn't that what we want?
I hope I have explained myself correctly this time, but if there are still doubts, please let me know. I am ready to help in whatever way I can.

Because of ethics in the first votes I took, I never voted for myself. That makes me uncomfortable.
But now I do. It's not that I've lost my ethics but I want to have even the smallest vote of my own, hahaha
