Hace mucho tiempo mis padres se mudaron desde el estado de Carabobo al estado de Anzoátegui. En esa transición ellos aún mantenían costumbres y pensamientos no cristianos, así que además de ser personas alegres y fiesteras, hábitos como el de la bebida eran muy comunes.

El asunto de la bebida no era tanto como un problema para mi mamá, sin embargo para papá consumir ya se estaba convirtiendo en un vicio dañino y problemático, tanto a nivel personal como familiar. Reflexionando sobre la situación en la que él se encontró, papá comenzó a leer e indagar sobre el evangelio de Cristo, a través de un viejo libro guardado en la biblioteca de la casa.

Él nos cuenta que sabía muy poco, pero llegó a hacer oraciones en posición de rodillas como pudo. En uno de esos días papá tiene un sueño. En el sueño papá estaba vestido de un blanco puro y sin manchas y en frente de él, uno semejante al hijo del hombre, guiaba el andar.

Luego de ese episodio liberador, papá acudió a una iglesia local, iglesia que hasta hoy congrega a mis padres y la familia. El pastor de la iglesia ayer cumplió años y estuvimos todos ahí. Doy gracias a Dios por la vida de mis hermanos y por el milagro de renovación que hizo en mi papá.

Espero que Dios guíe también cada paso en nuestro caminar, enderezando lo torcido, quitando lo que hay que quitar y añadiendo lo que hace falta.

A long time ago my parents moved from the state of Carabobo to the state of Anzoátegui. In that transition they still maintained non-Christian customs and thoughts, so in addition to being happy and partying people, habits such as drinking were very common.

Drinking was not so much a problem for my mom, however, for dad, drinking was already becoming a harmful and problematic habit, both personally and in the family. Reflecting on the situation in which he found himself, dad began to read and inquire about the gospel of Christ, through an old book kept in the library of the house.

He tells us that he knew very little, but he managed to say prayers in a kneeling position as best he could. On one of those days dad has a dream. In the dream, dad was dressed in pure white and without stains, and in front of him, someone similar to the son of man, led the way.

After that liberating episode, dad went to a local church, a church that still brings together my parents and family. The pastor of the church had his birthday yesterday and we were all there. I thank God for the lives of my brothers and for the miracle of renewal that he did in my father.

I hope that God also guides each step in our walk, straightening what is crooked, removing what needs to be removed and adding what is needed.
