Preparing to make calendula ointment / キンセンカの軟膏を作る準備

Today I was collecting petals from dried calendula flowers with my daughter. The flowers are sold as tea in organic stores.

I know Calendula from my daughter's baby time. A natural cosmetics brand Weleda I like uses Calendula widely for their baby care products.

It is also beautiful as tea. I feel happy to see flowers and feel good after drinking the tea.

According to Wikipedia, it has some pharmacological effects:

Calendula oil is still used medicinally. The oil of C. officinalis is used as an anti-inflammatory and a remedy for healing wounds. Calendula ointments are skin products available for use on minor cuts, burns, and skin irritation; however, evidence of their effectiveness is weak.

Last winter I got a jar of Calendula ointment from my friend. It worked well for my wintertime dry skin. I liked it and was interested in making natural calendula cream by myself.

Then! I found one of my favorite gardeners offers an online workshop to make Calendula ointment 🎉🌼

For this workshop I'm now collecting Calendula petals. In few days I'll have enough petals to make my ointment in the end of the month at the workshop.

I'm excited to make my Calendula ointment 😊It's nice I can make daily cosmetics from my garden by myself.

月末に参加するキンセンカの軟膏を作るワークショップのためにキンセンカの花びらを集めています。まだキンセンカは咲いていないので今回はオーガニックのお茶の乾いた花で代用することにしました。コロナ変異種を警戒して自宅待機中の子どもが手伝ってくれました。

種がついている花もあって、子どもは種を集めるのも楽しんでいました。集めた種はきちんと種袋に入れて私のお下がりの種ボックスに入れていました😅

あと数日でワークショップで使う量の花弁が集まりそうです。軟膏を自分で作れるようになったらいいですよね。化粧下地にもできるようで楽しみです。

夏キンセンカが庭で咲いたら庭ので作るぞ・・・とも。妄想が止まりません😁
