RE: Vegans & Tapeworms: Myths BUSTED & Some Natural Medicine Parasite Remedies You Should Know

in Natural Medicine4 years ago

I'll hade to pass this on to a friend. She rarely washes her veg and I suggested she should, reminding her that birds do often poop on them. It never really occurred to me that there would also be that risk of worm eggs. Probably not too worrisome if you're cooking the food, but I'm very particular with salad and I think I'll be even more so now! Does the bicarb or vinegar get through the shell of the egg?

I'm thinking to do a special post about veg washing later this week - there IS actal research about what works better. I'll dig it out. Basically sodium bicarb soak came out on top and vinegar makes you feel good but doesn't do as much and costs more. Perhaps a useful post for many - I shall slot it in to my schedule. ;)
