Food is most appetizing when the aroma makes you feel very hungry.

It is interesting to discuss when lemongrass becomes a food dish. You know, the aroma of lemongrass can even make mosquitoes dislike it, but why do humans really like the aroma? Full of question marks.

Uniquely, this plant is very easy to get, even if you throw it in your front yard, it will grow by itself. Lemongrass, has become an important part of my kitchen for every dish.

This time, I stocked a lot of lemongrass at home because during Ramadan I always like to make drinks from lemongrass. Apart from its aroma which is suitable for a dish, it has many benefits including helping to restore the body's condition when there is a lack of nutritional intake during fasting.

Making Special Dishes For Iftar With Lemongrass

Lemongrass is the main ingredient that I always buy every week to stock, even though I can actually plant it myself in my yard, but I'm not that diligent in caring for it.

Because there is a lot of lemongrass, I thought about making it into a food dish that I often see in several luxury restaurants, and even used as a fine dining menu in a 5 star hotel. So, what will I make of lemongrass this time? Wait, you have to be patient to find out.

Lemongrass Chicken Satay
The Recipe

Chicken Satay, of course, was the main dish which made my appetite increase. Again and again, this is to increase my daily protein consumption which comes from chicken, I am really confused about processing chicken into new food. So I thought about making it a satay that is high in protein, low in fat and calories.

I have chicken that has been marinated, I keep it in the chiller and I wait for it to defrost so it's easy to process, let alone puree with a blender. Very easy seasoning, here are the ingredients needed:

Ingredients:

  • 5-10 pcs lemongrass
  • 4-6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 of Leeks
  • Chili flakes
  • Salt and soy sauce
  • Salad dressing (toasted sesame kewpie)
  • 500 gr chicken breast without skin or fat

How to make Lemongrass Chicken Satay:

  • I have garlic that is peeled and then put in a blender. Of course, use a blender to puree all the ingredients, including pureeing the chicken breast with chili flakes and adding a little salt and soy sauce so that it has a slightly salty and sweet taste which makes the taste very pronounced and full of spices.

  • Once the ingredients are smooth, they tend to be very smooth so that I don't bother adding flour and it can stick to the lemongrass. I immediately heated a non-stick wokpan so I could bake on it. Using the oven for baking is also great but I don't have to bother taking out my oven anymore. Bake until cooked and everything is very cohesive.

  • Add a little sauce or salad dressing because I really like this salad dressing, it tastes delicious and slightly aromatic from the sesame.

I really like your ingenuity in the kitchen, is so country and entertaining. 😍

In my town we know that herb as malojillo, we use it to make tea, especially when there are flu-like symptoms. But I found it very ingenious how you used it in your dish. Thanks for sharing your recipe 🤗
