Craving For Noodles Pt. 2

in Foodies Bee Hive3 months ago

Satisfied, but we craved again for another bowl of noodles. The following week as we visited the mall, Ramen came into our minds for the second time, but we wanted to try another recipe. While looking around, we stumbled upon the doorstep of this Japanese Food Chain called Botejyu here at the Northwing of SM City Bacolod.

The place looks expensive, though, and we were having second thoughts if we can afford it since we were on a tight budget at the time, yet we still went in and have our orders taken. "Food is life." Yes, that was how we gaslighted ourselves so we could satisfy a craving.

I'm a fast learner with a short term memory actually, so after weeks which I haven't written this down, I totally have forgotten most of the details. It prompted me to check their website because I couldn't even remember the name of the foods we have eaten at the time. As I was looking, I have read about their interesting history.

BOTEJYU was established in 1946 in the gourmet city of Tamade, Osaka by Eikichi Nishino. Our restaurant name, BOTEJYU, was coined from the rhythmic cooking sound of okonomiyaki. The first part of the name, "BOTE" comes from the flipping sound of the okonomiyaki, and the second part of the name, "JYU", represents the sizzling sound as it cooks on the teppan grill. Since our establishment more than 70 years ago, we have taken pride in our restaurant name and have protected it by registering it as a trademark.

So, it is a Japanese restaurant, I thought it was just a Japanese-inspired one 'cause there are some cafe here inspired with anime and Japanese culture. On the other hand, all that searching and I couldn't still figure out what we have ordered last time. 😆

The only thing I could remember was the dinner was still another kind of misadventure. Initially, we craved for noodles and looked for Ramen, but ended ordering Rice Meals. Well, with a starving stomach for hours before class dismissal, we finally had thought that Ramen alone can fill our hunger.

From what I can recall, we have ordered two Mixed Fruit Juice Floats topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, a bowl of Miso Soup, Kimchi, Garlic Pork Rice Bowl - rice topped with pork belly slices cooked in Special Garlic Sauce with a fried egg and green veggies, and mine I think was Sukiyaki with a raw egg on top of it.

That was a delish! The food and the float on the table were gone in a few minutes. In this moment, we couldn't complain anymore if the servings were small or not, because we were full thereafter. My friend here was the happiest between us since he got all the greens since I couldn't eat the lettuces and cucumbers. But I enjoyed with the cooked Bok Choy on my plate, and actually have finished it all.

This post has long been overdue, but this made me recall the fun and savors I had back then. I just hope that I didn't made you hungry by sharing these flavorful and mouthwatering dishes. Anyway, thanks for reading until the end. God bless and have a nice day.
