Enjoying a tartiflette in the high mountains | French Alps

Hello my dear friends of Hive and Full Deportes! This time I bring you a meal that I made in my only stop in what was a kind of expedition on the side of Super Morzine towards a summit that never arrived, but that showed me the way on foot to Avoriaz and Switzerland.

When I saw those 3 food places in the high mountains, I was already needing to buy more water because I had 200 milliliters left, and I needed to eat, because I had decided to eat light to move with more agility and energy.

Luckily, these bars/restaurants were waiting for their visitors with hot food and fresh water.

What I liked most about this place called Les Crêtes, was the view. However, the food was also delicious.

I wanted to order tartiflette, even though it was given to us as one of the meals at the job I was at, but since I had not tried this dish in any restaurant, I wanted to know if it had any difference. And of course it did, this tartiflette was a delight of sliced potatoes dipped in delicious melted cheese.

Tartiflette is the most traditional dish in the Savoie region, which is where I was staying. Thus, all the towns that make up this region, such as Morzine or Les Gets, have the famous tartiflette dish for their visitors.

This dish came with a small salad and of course they offered bread to eat with the tartiflette. The bread baguette is a must at a French table.

To drink, I only asked for water because I was thirsty and because I still had about 2 hours of walking to get back to the gondola.

The prices were quite "normal" compared to any other part of this region. Again, for a high mountain, I was expecting a price increase due to the particularity of the location of this restaurant, but fortunately there was not much difference. In total I spent € 22 if I remember correctly (I don't remember the price of water very well).

As you can see, the place has a beautiful terrace that offers a panoramic view of the mountain and also has the flags of France and Switzerland due to the fact that it is almost on the border.

That day of clear skies, I could enjoy a beautiful image of the moon peeking in the distance in a whitish color in that turquoise sky.

The place was full of people. Although this is not evident in the pictures, there were people everywhere, lines to enter and lines to use the restroom.

It's good that you were able to find this restaurant at the top of the mountain, dear friend @belug
The views, and the landscapes you see from there, are truly enviable.
