Hello, friends especially foodies!
Recently, I went to one of the most popular seafood restaurant brand in my country. I went there not alone, i went there with my family: my father, my uncle (my father's younger brother) and my aunt (my father's older sister).
It was around 12.00 when we arrived there, the exact time to have lunch, right? The name of the restaurant was D'Cost, and when we arrived at that time lucky for us that it looked not crowded from the outside.
But, when we wanted to choose the menu inside, we were surprised cause there were many customers there before us.
Yes, the way we ordered menu at this place was a bit unique.. Instead of giving us the menu like all restaurant do, they made a board with the cards showing the menus that you should choose. Like these...
From a bit closer
Like you could see, they sold mostly seafood menus like fried pomfret, matah chili paste grilled gourami, sour spicy pomfret or grouper soup, grilled squid, honey squid, black pepper shrimp, butter fried shrimp, sour sweet fish fillet, salt chili fish fillet, shrimp in gulai soup, green chili fried pomfret/gourami, padang sauce shrimp, mango sauce fish fillet, matah chili fish fillet, and many others which i didn't take picture of.
At the back, still there some of their menus, like seafood fried beehoon, special fried noodle/beehoon, seafood ifumie, godog beehoon (godog means boiled), seafood fried noodle, egg fried beehoon/noodle, godog noodle, kind of fried rice, kind of rice package, some snacks, desserts and drinks.
When we ordered the waitress told us that all of our orders couldn't be cancelled. Okay then we take our seats...
They had a quite large dining area. Not fancy and luxury, it was modest but quite cozy. They prepared the plates for each table.
Next to us there was two tables.
While on the other side there were three tables.
Some of the tables were filled with customers. The restaurant in this branch was quite popular with its' number of customers.
No wonder, the waitress told us that we couldn't cancel the orders we made, the food came long time after we had ordered and also they didn't come right away, it came one by one. Now let me right away told you about their food and i would explain them in sequence order, first came would be talk first.
So i started from..
SINGAPORE YOUNG BEANS
It had crunchy but soft texture. The singapore sauce they cooked with the young beans made it tasted a bit spicy, savory and sweet from the beans' natural flavour. It was soon became our favorite and none of us dislike it. So tasty! one of the best beans i've ever had.
SOUR SWEET GOURAMI
Fried with flour, the gourami fillet tasted great. It had savory favour with soft crunchy texture. While the sour sweet sauce they put to it brought the sour and sweet flavour to it. So overall, it had a complete flavour of savory, sweet and also sour, and it was tasty too.
GODOG NOODLE
The texture of the noodle was soft and a bit chewy. It had some toppings like egg and veggie. It had tasty savory, sweet and a bit spicy flavour. All of you must try it.
SEAFOOD SAPO TOFU
With thick soup, this dish contained fried japanese tofu, shrimp, squid, mushroom, and carrot. This dish had savory, sweet and a bit spicy flavour. Again, they cooked this dish so good that it was tasty too.
SEAFOOD OMELETTE
It was actually fried egg with some minced seafood as its' filling and it had the sweet sour sauce on its' top. With the savory flavour of it and sweet sour sauce it had a complete favour of sweet, savory and sour. Oh yes it also had green beans, carrot and corn on the top like you could see. But i was a bit disappointed with this menu because it tasted just so so.
But overall, the other menus they served that day were tasty.
For the price i am sorry that i lost the receipt but it was around 400K IDR or around 25 USD for 4 persons, i thought it wasn't expensive at all.
All of the menus are worthed it to try and they won't make you broke, so why don't you come and try them yourselves?
