Take me back to mornings like this ☕️✨

Hello, hello! 💛
Hope your day is at least as bright as mine was, back in August! 😊

Terri Guillements once said "I like my coffee black and my mornings bright" - which is a quote that describes the best what I felt in the first morning of my little vacation with my boyfriend that we had back in August 2022 and which I've already written an article for, regarding how we spent 16 hours on a train ride just to get to this place. In case you haven't seen that post, I suggest you to give it a read here to understand better how everything started. 😊

Anyway, while we reached quite late in the evening, there wasn't much to be done but only a quick shopping to get some food for the days we were about to spend in Tulcea, and then head to sleep. Even though the accommodation wasn't the best talking about a hotel that wasn't offering the best conditions to the tourists, we were still happy to spend time there, especially since we had free access to the pool and SPA that were inside the building, as well as enjoying a very nourishing breakfast in the morning at no cost.

We even had free tea and coffee waiting for us in the room, which we could prepare in the morning before going to the restaurant, so no doubt I had to enjoy one of these at least for the sake of the picture that everyone takes in the morning haha.

The restaurant was located on the ground floor of the hotel and had a lot of food to pick from, along with drinks of all kinds and even sweets. This one had a Swedish buffet style where you could pick anything you like and eat as much as you want, the only condition being not to get takeaway food.

However, as much as I tried to take some shots with the restaurant and buffet, it was literally impossible because the hotel where we stayed was just one of the four that were part of the same chain and everyone was coming to the same restaurant because the other buildings didn't have one. So while the food was enough for everyone, the biggest problem was the tables which could run out easily of free seats.

We had pretty much the same food in the mornings, namely, omelette with vegetables and sausages or cold meats, served next to hot chocolate or coffee, and then ending everything with many sweets like eclairs, brownies, savarin, and fruit tarts. All these represented a great start of a new day bringing us lots of energy to do as much exploration as we could and create some memorable stories.

Oh, this applies even to non-coffee drinkers because while I've never been a coffee person, it's still nice to have a cup once in a while, especially on such beautiful mornings. 🖤

Happily, food wasn't the single thing that made us begin the day with a huge smile on our faces but the view as well which was literally breathtaking. I miss those early and cold mornings of summer when the city wasn't fully awakened.

The single noise you could hear was either created by the waves, by the seagulls, or by the cargo ships that were crossing the water - such a peaceful and relaxing location where to spend some time together with your loved ones! Still makes me wonder why the town is so poor and dead with such a great view that should bring lots of tourists there!

After we finished our breakfast, we decided to take a walk on the seafront that was right in front of the hotel to get a bit closer to the feelings that were going to conquer our hearts forever but which I'll keep for a separate post. We met lots of cats either sleeping in the sun or eating the fish thrown away by the fisherman, which completed the whole landscape perfectly.

I remember walking the same path a few years ago when I first explored Tulcea with my family and even though not much has changed since then, now we weren't able to walk too far due to the seafront that was under construction and forced us to get deeper in town rather than keeping close to the river.

Back in the times when the seafront wasn't under renovation, it was full of ports from where you could pay for a boat ride in different parts of the county, but now with all the renovations going on, made the little businesses be pushed away. So we took care to make the best of our morning walk to also check out these ports and find the one from where we were about to have a full-day boat ride very soon. But more about that in a separate post! ❤️

Also, the triangular building from the previous picture is the hotel where we stayed during our vacation, which I gotta say that it looks like the best in town and it definitely is amongst the most desired ones by the tourists, so I'm grateful that we managed to stay there, being so close to everything and get blessed with amazing views every morning. ✨
