Last Breakfast Date with My Secondborn at Mamak

I think this is definitely the last day of my breakfast date with my secondborn as the Raya school holidays commenced next week and I am scheduled for labour next Tuesday.

I took photos of us at his favorite breakfast place to remember and savour this moment with him.

Really like this mamak which is actually eating places run by Muslim Indians in Malaysia. They serve all types of bread or roti and also some Western food too in this particular mamak.

Why is it the "Last Breakfast Date"?

When the school holidays starts next week, we won't need to kill an hour time in between me dropping his brother off at school at 715am to him going to his school at 815am. Even if we resume this breakfast routine after I deliver the baby, there will be a new baby tagging along. Though this eatery is not really on my way to his kindergarten, I still chose this place based on a few reasons.

Cleanliness

Usually, mamaks do not look really clean and presentable but this is one of the cleanest mamak I have been to. The floors are not oily, the tables and chairs all all shining clean.

Great ventilation

I am still not for crowded places so any good ventilated eateries can easily capture my attention. We love to sit at the same table near the outside. It is spacious!

No crowd at all!

This factor is probably owing it to the current fasting month of the Muslims. Usually when we were there at 730am, there are just 2 to 3 other tables. Sometimes, it is just us.

Friendly Staffs

The staffs here have grown to recognize me and my son. My son sometimes would place his own order for a roti. They would stack up another chair when they see us arriving. They will also help me cut his roti without me struggling with fork and spoon after the food arrived. Very observant attendants, I am impressed.

Very very clean and well-maintained toilets

I usually dread going to any toilets in the mamak. Have been to really horrible ones. My son will always request to go toilet after breakfast and before leaving for his school. So I have to find one with a very clean toilet.

So we have been sticking to this eatery!

We come here 3 times a week with 2 mornings I request for my husband to send the eldest son then my secondborn and I can sleep in for 2 weekday mornings and have breakfast at home instead. On other days when we need to send his brother, he will request to go somewhere for roti and this is the somewhere!

Let's check out the food.

Some days, I order roti kosong (just bread made of plain flour and yeast) for him and some days roti telur ( bread with an egg in it).

I used to order a toast for myself but it was not satiafying at all then I started ordering thosai. Thosai is bread with no yeast I think. Their thosai dippings is something I really like. There are 3 to 4 dippings to choose from: curry, dhal (legumes), cold coconut chutney which is very delicious and sambal (a spicy blend of some chili).

See how happy my boy is enjoying his food. He will dive right in after the food is served.

I guess it serves as a comfort also for him to ease the nerves for school. He went in so brave today though he was telling me he was scared of a certain teacher who kept encouraging him to try holding his pencil by himself to write.

I am a 100% sure things will change when I have to be in confinement for a month and cannot send them to school. It is a bit difficult for me to move about now at 39 weeks 2 days but I still am savoring every moment with the boys. My strength is limited but they are all reserved and worth spending for the boys.
