Chapter 30: Food, Stories, and Friends

After what seems like a loooong time, I finally got to see some friends again! My colleagues from my previous work and I had dinner last night!

D was the one who intiated the get-together. She also suggested that we dine at Esmeralda Kitchen, located at 43 Mayon St, Santa Mesa Heights, Quezon City, 1114 Metro Manila. So convenient, as it was just around our area.

It was my first time to be at Esmeralda. Their interior design is, no doubt, aesthetically pleasing. There were also enough room for a number of groups, without it being too crowded. I later learned that Esmeralda also has a second floor, but we didn't get to go upstairs.

Their food is quite pricey at first glance, but it is actually reasonably priced, especially with the amount of serving per dish!

As expected, our dinner date was packed with endless random stories. We talked about some ehem adulting stuff. Haha I can't believe how our topic of conversation shifted from of what we used to talk about. Marriage? Giving birth? Money-making? Really? Haha We used to only ask each other what we would have for lunch or if we would like to buy snacks from a small booth outside our then workplace. LOL. Some growing up is happening, I guess.

That night was like a breath of fresh air for me. For someone who's been cooped up at home for almost 3 years, it was nice seeing familiar faces again, and being able to listen and share some life stories and updates.
