One more week left before the official public holiday for Hari Raya Puasa. That means it was our last week to savour Ramadan Bazaar food. Husband went for hunting again, this time bringing friends who craved for Ramadan food as well those who had not been to this bazaar.

He went to the one at Melawati side, so far this is the most popular one in our midst and most of the food are delicious.

Our 2nd Ramadan Food spread at home!!! Time to feast!

This was already considered lesser compared with our last year's feast because we all cut down on our diet by a lot for health purpose. Nevertheless, still thanking God for food on the table.

Sweet stuffs

We loved this plate of sweeties, consisted of 'kuih akok' on the left which was basically Malay pancake with flour, egg, sugar and 'pandan' leaves juice; kuih pelita in the center, a type of sweet soft jelly-like dessert made from coconut milk; putu piring (piring means plate)on the right, made of flour with palm sugar filling and be eaten with salted dessicated coconut bits. All were very sweet appetising.

Keropok Leko

This one was snack which was made from fish paste. There were two types: soft thick fluffy one, and thin crispy one. I personally love the thick one because I felt there is something to be bitten on and to chew. So delicious. The rest in the house preferred the crispy one. Always eat Keropok Leko with chilli dipping sauce. Yums!

Tomato Rice with protein

These rice selection were our main dish to be shared among four of us. We had tomato rice with mutton for the kids and tomato rice with sambal chicken for the adults. The stall which my husband bought this from was super famous even there had interviewer and influencer to cast their stall. Yummy!

Satay Maharaja

This was famous 'satay' aka skewed grilled meat in our area. The beef cubes and chicken cubes were so properly marinated and they charred grilled it so professionally. The peanut sauce was bombastic. We ate our satay with cucumber and raw onion with the peanut sauce.

Tofu Anora

This one was another must-have for our Ramadan feast. The tofu has filling of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables then deep fried. Garnished with chillies and fried onions. Super satisfying eating this especially with the spicy sweet soy sauce. This shop had been passed from generation to generation, from road side to owning their own business lot. Amazing. To support their business, my husband bought each of our friends one box of Tofu Anora.

Murtabak

Lastly, our favourite which is called 'murtabak', pan fried flat bread made from dough with eggs, onions and meat as the filling. Very yummy when it was eaten with curry sauce as well as the onion vinegar.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Ramadan food and we talked about how blessed we are living in multi-racial country and we got to taste food from other races. And vice versa. We actually finished the whole thing except some leftover of the tomato rice. Awesome dinner!
