Jamaica drink is popular in El Salvador, and I had it few times in different restaurants and I really liked it, but I had no idea where it comes from or how to make it, till now.

I also had no idea that hibiscus tea is also popular and very, very healthy, till now.

One day shopping at a grocery store, Super Selectos, I saw dry jamaica flowers in a package, so I decided to buy it. I was very excited to be able to make it.

I thought, that I should also research all about it, and I wad blown away with the health benefits it provides, and so now, I drink it as a tea every morning, instead of coffee.

Jamaica juice is served as a cold drink, and once I made it, I realized how much dugar it needs in order to be sweet since if has sour taste, just like cranberries and that is why I prefer drinking as a tea, without sugar.

Health benefits of Jamaica/Hibiscius tea:

  • Reduce blood pressure
  • Reduce cholesterol levels
  • Packed with Antioxidants
  • Boost liver health
  • High in polyphenols, which helps in
    preventing cancer
  • Protects against bacterial infections
  • Boosts immune system
  • Loaded with Vitamin C (flu fighting) and
with Vitamin K ( helis bone health and
    blood clothing)
  • Aids digestion
  • Ease kidney stones

To make the tea, I would boil few flowers for two cups of water, for 15 minutes. You can add honey and some lemon if you like.

To make the jamaica juice, I use half cup of flowers and boil it in 6 cups of water and add sugar to your liking. Once cooled, serve it with ice.

The color of the tea is absolutely beautiful, isn't? Let me know if you ever tried hibiscus tea or jamaica drink. Any suggestions or thoughts are very appreciated.
