This is our first ever corn crop in El Salvador. It's not verg big because we are just experiencing growing corn here in our backyard, before we start growing corn in our future land that we want to purchse. And again, still waiting for our beach to sell, in order to get that 24 acre land.

The corn crop turned out pretty good and we enjoyed and shared a lot of corn with our neighbours and family.

We had some boiled corn, corn on fire, we made three different El Salvadorian fishes, like: tamalitos, riguas and my absolute favorite, Atol, which is a hot drink made out of corn (grinded corn). And this is what I am sharing with you today.

Atol is definitely one of my absolute favorite drinks and this is how to make it.

We cut the corn down. The corn can't be too young or too old. We peel it and then with the knife we cut the corn of the cob.

As soon as you have enough corn, you have to either put the corn with some water in a blender or take it to molino, where the grinding machine grinds the corn because the milk from the corn will go bad pretty fast. And because we were making a few different dishes at the same time we had a lot of corn to grind, so we took it to the molino.

Now we have the grinded corn, which we need to strain it, by adding a little big of water while straining it.

The strained corn milk and water is ready for cooking. We add sugar to your liking and cinnamon sticks.

You cook it on pretty high heat for about 40 minutes, mixing it non stop until it starts to turn into smooth, thicker texture.

And atol is ready. Yummy😋

Wow that's amazing. I can't even GROW corn!

This is the first time we grew big amout of corn like this. In El Salvador corn is very, very pooular and it's the main grown food here, in winter time. You see corn fields everywhere. So we thiught, we will try it in our backyard as practice, because our plan is to buy land and grow corn and have cattle.
