On the second day of the Easter celebrations it is customary to have a nice barbecue, even if like every year, no one knows for what bad luck the weather is often cloudy and dark, but as the friend who was grilling said: Your water won't stop the our grill! The only year in which it hasn't rained in recent years was the year of Covid, when obviously gatherings were prohibited.

Ours was a small gathering, we were two couples with two children and we had the barbecue at their house, who live not far from us in the small village of San Momme. We arrived there around eleven, we brought a case of Finkerbrau beers, one of my favorite beers that we can easily find at Lidl, the supermarket where we usually go.

As soon as Cristian arrived, our friend had already turned on the grill for half an hour and it was still not raining so outside he had placed the trays of meat that you see in the photo, to grill he had taken some mixed meat, pork chops, sausages and pork ribs , well let's say that it was definitely not a barbecue suitable for vegetarians or vegans, even though his girlfriend doesn't eat meat and I eat little myself, he grilled a lot of meat, also because both he and my husband like the children a lot, for example, my stepdaughter would eat tons of pork chops, it's one of her favorite dishes.

El segundo día de las celebraciones de Pascua es costumbre hacer una buena barbacoa, aunque como cada año, nadie sabe por qué mala suerte el tiempo suele estar nublado y oscuro, pero como dijo el amigo que estaba asando: Tu agua ganó ¡No pares nuestra parrilla!

El único año en el que no ha llovido en los últimos años fue el año del Covid, cuando evidentemente estaban prohibidas las reuniones.
La nuestra era una reunión pequeña, éramos dos parejas con dos niños y hicimos la barbacoa en su casa, que vive no muy lejos de nosotros en el pequeño pueblo de San Momme.
Llegamos sobre las once, trajimos una caja de cervezas Finkerbrau, una de mis cervezas favoritas que podemos encontrar fácilmente en Lidl, el supermercado al que vamos habitualmente. Nada más llegar Cristian nuestro amigo ya llevaba media hora prendida la parrilla y todavía no llovía así que afuera había colocado las bandejas de carne que veis en la foto, para asar había sacado un poco de carne mixta, cerdo chuletas, salchichas y costillas de cerdo, bueno digamos que definitivamente no era una barbacoa apta para vegetarianos o veganos, a pesar de que su novia no come carne y yo como poco, él asaba mucha carne, además porque tanto él como A mi marido le gustan mucho los niños, por ejemplo, mi hijastra comía toneladas de chuletas de cerdo, es uno de sus platos favoritos.

Cristian had obviously already spiced and salted the meat, despite the bad weather he grilled for about two hours, with the drizzle obviously grilling was more difficult but not impossible, as you can see he has a small but really well equipped grill and he didn't give up not even with the rain, grilling even with the umbrella open, in the meantime it was pleasant to keep each other company, chatting, drinking beer and laughing, while the children played in the room, shame about the bad weather because otherwise they could have played in the garden or in the nearby park, San Momme is a small village and children can travel on foot without fear, there are not many cars and the people all know each other.

After a while he finished grilling, little by little we put the trays of meat inside, covering them so as not to let them cool down, obviously even for lunch we went inside and apperchiated in the house, the meat was put on the table and we didn't hesitate to stock up on it, everything was delicious, the ribs crunchy and juicy, the tasty sausages and the ribs too! Now I still haven't gotten hungry again from how much we ate, maybe the meat was just too much, we even had a snack in the afternoon! However, it was a really pleasant day in company and obviously good food and good meat never hurts, conviviality and food are always a winning mix!

Cristian obviamente ya había condimentado y salado la carne, a pesar del mal tiempo asó durante unas dos horas, con la llovizna obviamente asar fue más difícil pero no imposible, como pueden ver tiene una parrilla pequeña pero muy bien equipada y no No me rindo ni con la lluvia, haciendo parrilladas incluso con el paraguas abierto, mientras tanto era agradable hacernos compañía, charlar, tomar cerveza y reír, mientras los niños jugaban en la habitación, lástima del mal tiempo porque sino Podrían haber jugado en el jardín o en el parque cercano, San Momme es un pueblo pequeño y los niños pueden viajar a pie sin miedo, no hay muchos coches y la gente se conoce.

Al rato terminó de asar, poco a poco metimos las bandejas de carne adentro, tapándolas para que no se enfríen, obviamente incluso para el almuerzo entramos y nos aperchiamos en la casa, se puso la carne en la mesa y No dudamos en abastecernos, todo estaba riquísimo, las costillas crujientes y jugosas, las salchichas ricas y las costillas también! Ahora todavía no me ha vuelto a dar hambre por lo mucho que comimos, tal vez la carne era demasiada, ¡incluso comimos un refrigerio por la tarde! Sin embargo, fue un día realmente agradable en compañía y obviamente la buena comida y la buena carne nunca están de más, ¡la convivencia y la comida siempre son una combinación ganadora!
