Today's cooking story is extraordinary, so funny and has an extraordinary experience. Starting from wanting to try this blooming steamed sponge cake recipe into an experience that is always heartbreaking, somehow 3 times trying to make this sponge cake there are always no satisfactory results, aka always failing to bloom. Even though I have high hopes for this recipe this time, but what power reality does not match expectations.

I found this recipe on the internet some time ago, the recipe uses sprite as a developer. There is no addition of soda or any other food developer. However, I think the recipe is very easy and does not use many ingredients that are difficult to find.

Blooming steamed sponge cake is very popular in our country, usually this sponge cake is used as a souvenir when visiting guests, or as a dish cake during certain events. Now the shape of this cake resembles a cupcake, however, the difference is that this cake is usually served blooming with layers of colors that tempt the eye. Now for the manufacturing process steamed in a large pot with a layer of cloth over the lid and usually this sponge cake does succeed very beautifully.

Step 6

Do it until finished and the cup is full and then steam for about 25 minutes until cooked. Now when the process is steamed, make sure to use a stable temperature and the lid should not be opened.

My failed sponge cake is ready to be enjoyed, even though the bloom is not perfect but the taste is not disappointing at all, the sweetness is just right not fishy at all and most importantly the texture is very soft. Love the texture really- the softness cannot be denied this sponge only failed to bloom not failed to taste and that slightly reduced my disappointment.

I'm not sure where I went wrong in the preparation this time but I think I failed in steaming, even though I had heated it with a stable pan and then steamed the cake. But again maybe the temperature I used was still unstable. But I don't know, I'm not sure if this mistake came from that. I will try it next time and it will definitely work and don't forget I will show you the success of making steamed blooming sponge cake one day.
