Mom's Cooking Style Restaurant

Mom's cooking. Sounds very interesting to me. Everyone will definitely crave their own mother's cooking even though their mother is not always good at cooking. For me it is about comfort especially with a warm family situation.

Rumah Ibu (Mom's House in English) Restaurant.

Found a family restaurant when I was walking around the city of Binjai. From a distance it looks like a house in general but the lighting arrangement looks warm.

From the menus they offer, this restaurant seems to offer dishes that are usually cooked by mothers in this area. Mostly chicken, duck, and fish menus with many choices of traditional chili sauce.

The characteristic of this restaurant is that the traditional chili sauce is sold separately with protein ingredients. Meanwhile, for the protein there is a choice of grilled or fried.

The rice is also served with traditional basket material equipped with a banana leaf base which I think adds a distinctive aroma to the rice.

Before eating while waiting for all the dishes to finish, I also enjoyed orange juice first. Pure orange juice without sugar. Very refreshing for my throat.

A glass of this orange juice costs $0.8, not even a dollar at the current exchange rate. Maybe if with sugar the price will be different. Sugar is expensive but not good. So actually to be healthier it doesn't need to be expensive.

For side dishes, I chose grilled duck. Honestly, this duck meat is juicy and tender. I have to be honest, it turns out that the taste is similar to my mother's cooking overall. Grilled duck is priced at $2, which is really affordable in my opinion, even in other restaurants I often find duck menus for $3.

Then, Grilled duck is served with spicy sweet soy sauce. This is my favorite sauce.

It's not complete without vegetables for me. I chose stir fried water spinach with spicy seasoing that made my sweat drip! Original stir fried water spinach with no seafood for $0.85. Affordable price and can even be for two people per serving

Had to restrain myself from adding rice because honestly all the dishes here are delicious. No wonder this restaurant is always crowded. Also with affordable prices in my opinion.

With a homey situation like your own home. There are indoor and semi-outdoor.

A little decoration of lantern lights and nice green plants. Nothing excessive. Also the restaurant provides automatic mosquito catcher in the corners of the restaurant so I was not disturbed by mosquitoes during dinner.

A good experience for dinner especially for those of you who miss your mother's cooking. I am definitely curious about the other menus later and I will come here again.

For the closing I ordered sweet cold desserts. Chocolate cake served with sweet cream. A closing that made me smile.
