Hola queridos amantes de la comida. Bendiciones para todos! Hoy vengo a participar en el Tercer Concurso Foodies, en el cual nos invitan a preparar una bebida típica de nuestra tierra. Inmediatamente lo primero que se me vino a la mente fue el popular carato de mango.
Esta es una bebida típica aquí en mi pueblito de Cumanacoa, estado Sucre, Venezuela. Cuando llega el mes de agosto ya podemos observar las matas con sus cargas de mango y una gran emoción aflora en mi, ya que esta es mi fruta preferida jajaja. Aprendí a preparar este jugo observando a mi abuela prepararlo. Ella lo hacia pero en mayores cantidades, recuerdo que pasábamos toda la mañana pelando mangos y los poniamos a sancochar en una popular olla mondonguera y a fogon, para cuando estaba listo le mandaba una jarra a cada uno de mis tios. Escogí este jugo porque es mi favorito, adoro un carato de mango bien frio ♥
Hello dear food lovers. Blessings to all! Today I come to participate in the Third Foodies Contest, in which we are invited to prepare a typical drink of our land. Immediately the first thing that came to my mind was the popular mango carato.
This is a typical drink here in my little town of Cumanacoa, Sucre state, Venezuela. When the month of August arrives we can already observe the bushes with their loads of mangoes and a great emotion comes up in me, since this is my favorite fruit hahaha. I learned to prepare this juice by watching my grandmother prepare it. She used to make it but in larger quantities, I remember we would spend the whole morning peeling mangoes and put them to boil in a popular mondonguera pot on the stove. By the time it was ready, I would send a jug to each of my uncles. I chose this juice because it's my favorite, I love a cold mango carato♥
Ingredientes
5 mangos verdes o pintones
Azúcar al gusto
Vainilla
1litro de agua
Ingredients
5 green or pinto mangos
Sugar to taste
Vanilla
1 liter of water
Lo primero que hacemos es lavar muy bien los mangos, los pelamos, picamos y colocamos en un olla con el litro de agua.
Lo pondremos en la hornilla a fuego alto por unos 20 minutos aproximadamente o hasta que los mangos estén blandos.
The first thing we do is wash the mangoes very well, peel them, chop them and put them in a pot with the liter of water.
We will put it on the stove over high heat for about 20 minutes or until the mangoes are soft.
Ya blandos, bajamos del fuego y dejamos reposar. Luego los colocamos en la licuadora y licuamos bien, colamos para retirar cualquier grumo y procedemos a colocarle azúcar al gusto y un chorrito de vainilla. Llevamos a refrigerar por una hora y ya podemos degustar un rico vaso de carato de mango.
Once soft, remove from heat and let stand. Then we put them in the blender and blend well, strain to remove any lumps and proceed to add sugar to taste and a dash of vanilla. We refrigerate for an hour and then we can enjoy a delicious glass of mango carato.
