Hi Everyone,

It is the second year we have celebrated BB M's Birthday in Japan. Last year we were in Kyoto and he chose his birthday cake, this time we are in Osaka and again got to choose his cake. This year, he wanted another ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins. Baskin-Robbins is everywhere in Japan but in Australia, we only have a small handful of shops around Sydney so he has his heart set on an ice cream cake.

Hubby took him to the store to choose his cake. The menu looks much more interesting than last year even though they still had the Pokemon cake we got. After standing there for 5 minutes, he decided he didn't want a traditional ice cream cake, instead, he wanted the 12 flavours of ice cream in a box. This involves him choosing all 12 flavours of ice cream and it comes in a nice box to take home.

Took him a good 5 minutes to choose all 12 flavours with the help of his brother and the staff started to pack. The funny thing is that each cup needs to be weighed so they all have the same weight of ice cream for the customer. The packing process took a while due to all the weighing but in the end, the box was finally made for us.

While the boys were out getting the ice cream, I was at the supermarket buying a feast for them. Japan is so convenient, you go to the supermarket and get all the food you need with minimal preparation or cooking. In our instance, it was just a few things to be heated up in the microwave and that was done.

Although it looked simple, BB M was over the moon with his pick of ice creams. He had a bit of every flavour and as expected, we couldn't finish it that night. It took us nearly 3 days to finish all that ice cream, very satisfied indeed. He has already asked if he could celebrate his next birthday in Japan again .... we told him lets see...
