Whaaaa another day another foodie post! We're back to Bangkok and just craved some curries. There is this place we love right in Bangkok and just a few minutes walk from Khaosan Road, the tourist beloved drinking spot! We're in the area so here we go again, Karim Roti Mataba

Karim Roti Mataba

Karim has been opened for generations selling curries, Roti and Mataba. It's Indian inspired cuisine serving curries (duh!), roti and mataba. There's some rice too of course! This is a family owned restaurant and guess what, they're originally from India so imagine how good their Indian inspired food would be.

Now I'm sure a lot of you know what curries are but do you know Roti? It's a fried dough plate that's normally they dip in curries just like naan.. If you know what that is. Anyways, we just basically dip roti and eat it along side the curries which this time we ordered green curry beef and Gurma beef. I know it might sounds a little odd but one of the reasons I love their curries is that, they don't make it too intense and thick. It's more waterly like, not too coconutty. The taste is also just right, not too herby and too much spice as you might imagine Indian curry would be like.

There's also another dish which I think it's pretty good and exotic. Mataba! Basically a stuffed roti. Make it a thick piece, fried till outside is crispy then cut into a perfect bite size.

Dessert after Karim Roti Mataba

I love this area so there are so many places around that I pinned as my favorite places (to go eat #lol). One of them is this place you can't miss 'Khao Chae Mae Siri', almost a dessert / snack that's super duper exotic. Even hard to find here in Thailand. Only few still sells this old-school snack. I have talked about this many time on by blog so I won't be explaining more in detail. Just make sure you check out this street food snack place when you're around the area.

2 mins walk from Karim Roti Mataba is this new hidden coffee place we discovered, KAYY. A quiet place to chill, hang out with friends or to work online peacefully, all your choice.

That should be pretty good and cover half of your day to enjoy a piece of Bangkok. I love this area and I can literally stroll around the area for the whole day.. even for a few days straight. There are so much to offer and hey, the food is so so so good around here too!
