Hello everyone! Today I am going to share some pictures of a yummy meal I had yesterday.

My family and I wanted to go to a big seafood market located a little far from my home. Technically, it is actually in another state, and the place is called Kuala Selangor. Unfortunately, we forgot to take the ice box with us where we store the seafood while being on the journey returning home. So, we had to cancel the plan. I even wore my beach slippers I use for market only for it to get cancelled.

So, we went to a restaurant nearby to have a yummy meal and then made more plans to visit my relatives living near the place as well. I think they might have noticed my slippers and wonder why am I wearing it :D

This restaurant is called the River View Seafood Restaurant. I have been here many times and try to order different items each time. It was a weekday and hence there were very less people. Had it been weekend, it would have been packed.

This is an area where they sell some jewelry and washi tapes. They mentioned that the proceeds go to charity. On the adjacent wall, there is a large mural. Customers especially tourists who come from far, take pictures there.

This is the river. The restaurant is built on top of the river on a jetty. The water seemed to be low on this particular day. It was due to the warm weather and the level was so low that I saw a stork walking slowly on the water while trying to catch a fish for his meal.

These are the first items they serve. They brought the plates, bowls and cutlery readily immersed in hot water for disinfection. They serve the garlic and green chillies as well. After being immersed for a while, we can take the little bowls and fill them with soy sauce, chilli and garlic. We eat them with the main course for extra flavouring.

This is the drink we ordered by the way. We just got a pot of Chinese tea which was brought hot. So along with it we request for ice cubes as well so that we can mix them as the temperature is too high especially in the beginning.

These are the ice cubes that the waiter got us. She is a nice person and always takes our table orders. One time she shared that she lives nearby and took up this job because she was bored at home as all her children have become adults and no one is home much.

These are fried long beans with belacan and prawns. Belacan is a local condiment made of shrimp and chilli. It adds a wonderful flavour to any dish it is added to. I noticed the chef also included some prawns and mushrooms in this dish. It was my first time trying this dish and I was impressed.

This is seafood fried rice. I didn't get to take the picture because my father was already digging into it right away as we were hungry. I didn't mind because I have taken pictures of this dish multiple times before. It is made of rice of course, condiments, beans cut into little pieces, prawns and eggs. The fried rice tasted very good as usual.

This is tom yum. It is a potent soup made of lemongrass, tomatoes, mushroom, carrots, and shrimp. Since this is a seafood restaurant, I guess they improvised it by adding fish, squids and prawns as well. It was full of flavours and tasted so yummy. This is a zoomed picture that I took which is why it doesn't do justice to the real deal.

Here's a better picture. This is how it looks from the top. The chef has cut the fish into multiple pieces and it didn't have much bones so it was easy for each of us to scoop up a piece.

This is another picture of it that my brother snapped. As you can see, it was served in a large pot.

They provided us with smaller bowls so we can take a few scoops and pour it into our individual bowls. By the way, people with gastric should eat it reasonably because the taste is sour and it can aggravate the acidity of the stomach. Also, I highly recommend you to eat the fish separately on a plate and not in the tom yum bowl with soup. It is not a good idea as it can be a little too big and it is inconvenient to eat it with soup.

So it was extremely windy and the wind just blew my hair off eventhough I tied it.

I got a haircut later on at my uncle's saloon :D It was a sudden event and not planned at all. Half of my hair is gone now but I am very happy with how it turned out.
