FOODIES - Quick Friday Supper. Really awesome sticky chicken!

Good day everyone! Time for another quick and easy sticky chicken post!

I realized that I have not posted a Foodies post in a while and... technically I HAVE posted sticky chicken before... but I make it different every time.

So this was the procedure this time:

Chicken in the pan.
Preheat that oven.
Stab the chicken full of little holes.

Making the sauce:

  • 1 part home made chutney
  • 1 part Jimmy's Steakhouse Sauce
  • 0.5 part sugar
  • 2 parts water

Cook the sauce in a saucepan till everything is combined.

Put into the oven at 180C.

The chicken will now look like this.

The next step is SUPER important!

Who likes chicken skin? Everyone who eats chicken basically. So... you are going to flip the chicken in the fluid and then you are going to let it cook upside down for no more than 10 minutes!

Any more and you risk the skin sticking to the pan and ripping off when you flip the chicken! A real tragedy!

I like to use nylon-coated tongs to handle the chicken delicately. Then flip them over again and the last 10mins of cooking crank up the heat to 220C and the finished product is:

Delicious. I served it with potato fries but you could add it to just about anything really!

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

Love chicken, always use tin foil to line pan, it's the cleaning up after that I find a nightmare. Short cut to delicious meal.

Home made potato chips I hope, nothing out of packets work.

Have a great weekend!

Absolutely! 100% more satisfaction!

Hey @zakludick, here is a little bit of BEER from @joanstewart for you. Enjoy it!

I found I can get the imported German chips at the butchers and they taste like potatoes should or did years ago. Tin foil does save on cleaning up and even use it on the gas braai to line the drip tray.

Finding chips in packets that tasted good, not in a long time now only homemade. Heavy duty foil works like a bomb with cleaning sticky cooking events, save tin foil trays from banana bread/foods etc., bought in the shops for drip trays, recycle and save a little using Weber.

Looks absolutely delicious 😋 Hope you soaked that pan afterward, otherwise I'm sure who ever was on dishes duty was not impressed lol.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I still have chicken and sauce left! Going to do wors in there tonight!

Oh, nice. I'm sure that wors was super yummy 😋 as well.
