Hello dear friends, I hope you are very well. Today I want to share with you something that makes me very happy. About two weeks ago I auditioned for a musical that will premiere in December for Christmas. A few days later they called me and I want to share with you what have been these days of assembly and pre-production for the play.
El grupo de teatro donde estoy está abriendo se pasó en la escena margariteña, y por ello trabajan muy arduamente para llevar un espectáculo de alta calidad y así las personas puedan educarse y saber que es la isla de Margarita se hace teatro.
The theater group where I am opening was passed in the Margarita scene, and therefore work very hard to bring a high quality show and so people can be educated and know that is the island of Margarita theater is done.
En este grupo nos reunimos dos veces a la semana, empezamos hace dos semanas pero literalmente ya tenemos el montaje encima. Así que cada día cuenta y no podemos faltar a ningún ensayo.
In this group we meet twice a week, we started two weeks ago but we literally already have the set up on top of us. So every day counts and we can't miss any rehearsals.
Al momento de reunirnos debemos ir con ropa de trabajo, es decir que sea negra y ajustada, con comida e hidratación porque la jornada es bastante larga. Contrario a lo que muchos creen ser actor no es nada fácil, lleva consigo una gran preparación no solo para el personaje subo también física y mental.
At the time of meeting we must go with work clothes, that is to say that it is black and tight, with food and hydration because the day is quite long. Contrary to what many believe, being an actor is not easy, it takes a great preparation not only for the character but also physically and mentally.
Por eso tenemos una jornada intensa, dónde hacemos calentamiento, corporal y vocal y como estamos en una formación integral en esto días pudimos experimentar el trabajo circense. Un facilitador nos mostró todos los elementos que normalmente usan y su origen y quedé muy impactada al descubrir que la mayoría de estos elementos fueron utilizados hace muchos años en la guerra o de alguna actividad rural.
That is why we have an intense day, where we do warm up, corporal and vocal and as we are in an integral formation in these days we were able to experience circus work. A facilitator showed us all the elements they normally use and their origin and I was very impressed to discover that most of these elements were used many years ago in the war or in some rural activity.
Todos nos entusiasmamos mucho con esos elementos, por mi parte me animé a hacer zancos, por lo general me da miedo las alturas peor no como vértigo sino que me sudan mucho las manos, incluso ver a alguien más hace que me suden. Pase como 10 minutos montada en el zanco y como primera clase no podía moverme o caminar solamente practicar con el zanco.
We all get very excited with those elements, for my part I was encouraged to do stilts, usually I'm afraid of heights but not like vertigo but my hands sweat a lot, even seeing someone else makes me sweat. I spent about 10 minutes riding on the stilt and as a first class I could not move or walk, only practice with the stilt.
Realmente pensé que era más fácil, pero es una actividad compleja y difícil que requiere mucha práctica y concentración, me tomaron fotos pero aún no me las pasan. Aún así espero seguir aprovechando esto del taller. Mis demás compañeros se enfocaron en otras actividades como las acrotelas y los malabares.
I really thought it was easier, but it is a complex and difficult activity that requires a lot of practice and concentration, they took pictures of me but they still don't pass them to me. I still hope to continue taking advantage of the workshop. My other classmates focused on other activities such as acrobatics and juggling.
Rápidamente paso el tiempo y ya llegó el turno de ensayar nuestras líneas y empezar a marcar el montaje, como dije cada día es sumamente importante e intenso y por ello debemos enfocarnos en el ensayo e ir preparados.
Time passed quickly and it was time to rehearse our lines and start marking the assembly, as I said every day is extremely important and intense and therefore we must focus on the rehearsal and go prepared.
La verdad que estoy muy emocionada con este montaje que es alusivo a la navidad, obviamente no puedo revelar mucho pero poco a poco les iré contando cómo va todo.
