I've learned to understand it since a child, my dad preferred german TV (mostly cause of the Bundesliga) over the few Finnish channels that existed. So I grew up with a satellite outside the window and a bigger variety of entertainment :P

Then later on I started studying it in high school and university, although dropped out of the latter cause wasn't a fan of the career choices it meant.
