Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich vom Keplr Wallet aus eine Transaktion mit Atom auf eines meiner Ledger durchgeführt. Leider sind die Token dort nicht angekommen. Daraufhin habe ich eine Mail an den Support geschrieben. Leider hat mir niemand geantwortet.

Heute habe ich mich dann über Telegram an den vermeintlichen Support gewandt. Ich hatte auch keinen Verdacht auf Betrug, da der Account mehrere tausend Mitglieder haben soll. Es dauerte auch nicht lange und ich hatte einen Gesprächspartner. Es war ein sehr nettes Gespräch. Im Nachhinein zu nett, denn er hat mich um den Finger gewickelt, so dass ich alle Vorsichtsmaßnahmen außer Acht gelassen habe.

It was a very nice conversation. Too nice in retrospect, because he had me wrapped around his finger, so I disregarded all precautions.

Ich startete die Validierung. Hier hätte ich stutzig werden müssen, da keine Verbindung zum Wallet hergestellt werden konnte. In diesem Fall kann man die Wallet manuell verbinden. Dazu muss man die Seed-Phrase eingeben. Dies habe ich getan und die Validierung wurde gestartet.

I started the validation. This should have made me suspicious, as no connection to the wallet could be established. In this case, you can connect the wallet manually. To do this, you have to enter the seed phrase. I did this and the validation was started.

 

Die Freigabe sollte mit einem Popup bestätigt werden. Da dies nicht der Fall war, habe ich nach einiger Zeit Ledger Live gestartet und es wurden tatsächlich Transaktionen durchgeführt. Allerdings nicht in mein Ledger, sondern aus meinem Ledger heraus.

Ich realisierte und konnte noch einen Teil zu Hive-Engine und Binance transferieren. Trotzdem wurden mir umgerechnet fast 2000 $ gestohlen.
I realized and was still able to transfer a portion to Hive Engine and Binance. Nevertheless, the equivalent of almost $2000 was stolen from me.

Der Telegram-Kanal ist inzwischen gelöscht und mein Gesprächspartner antwortet auch nicht.

Was habe ich gelernt?
Wenn man krank ist, sollte man sich um andere Dinge kümmern als um Kryptoprobleme. Man sollte niemals die Seed-Phrase preisgeben. Telegram ist ein Tummelplatz für Kriminelle. Nette Unterhaltungen werde ich in Zukunft hinterfragen

What have I learned?
When you are ill, you should take care of other things than crypto problems. You should never reveal the seed phrase. Telegram is a playground for criminals. I will question nice conversations in the future
