What are Sneaker Crease Guards / Shields and do you need them?

Was ist ein Sneaker-Faltenschutz / Schild und braucht man sowas?

Ein Sneaker-Faltenschutz ist eine spezielle Einlage für den vorderen Bereich des Sneakers (Toe Box) und soll das Bilden von Falten und von Löchern bei der großen Zehe verhindern.

Habe kürzlich für einen neuen Sneaker das erste Mal so einen Faltenschutz benötigt, da der Schuh auf auf dem linken Fuß beim Gehen eine unangenehme Falte gebildet hat.

Mit dem Schild wird die Falte tatsächlich minimiert bzw. auf eine hintere Stelle verlagert.

Allerdings ist das Schild wiederum nicht so angenehm zu tragen, da es den Platz für die Zehen einschränkt. Habe daher ein Cut-Out für die große Zehe in das Schild geschnitten, um den Tragecomfort zu erhöhen. Das Schild ist aus einem Kunststoff/Gel-artigen Material und kann leicht angepasst werden.

Denke, für die meisten Sneaker braucht man das Schild nicht wirklich, da die meisten Sneaker so flexibel sind, dass sie kaum Falten bilden bzw. die Falte nicht unangenehm ist.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr schon mal einen Sneaker-Faltenschutz getragen? Unnötiges oder notwendiges Produkt?

A sneaker crease guard / protector / shield is a special insert for the front area of the sneaker (toe box) and is designed to prevent creases and holes from forming on the big toe.

I recently needed such a crease protector for the first time for a new sneaker because the shoe formed an unpleasant crease on the left foot when walking.

With the shield, the crease is actually minimized or shifted to a rear position.

However, the shield is not so comfortable to wear as it restricts the space for the toes. I therefore made a cut-out in the shield for the big toe to increase comfort. The shield is made of a plastic/gel-like material and can be easily adjusted.

I don't think you really need the shield for most sneakers, as most sneakers are so flexible that they hardly crease or the crease is not uncomfortable.
