The adventure of three close friends, which begins on a small boat in the magnificent ocean, soon turns from voluntary to forced. The forced journey soon turns into a survival friendship. The owner of the story that constantly updates itself is the content of the 2019 movie Harpoon.
First of all, I can say that while the movie presents the theme of what happens between close friends as a result of the revelation of a false friendship built on betrayal, intrigue, ambition, ambition and lies, it also makes a visual show with its magnificent ocean views.
Airplane and sea journeys where my feet are not firmly on the ground have always managed to scare me. But despite everything, I've always loved bird's eye views and places like the ocean and the sea where you can see almost every shade of blue. The movie Harpoon fulfills this love for scenery, as most of the story takes place in the ocean.
I can categorize the story of the movie under three headings: peaceful, hostile, and forcibly peaceful. Each chapter represents a part of the story, while the transition to the next chapter represents the result of new developments that come out of nowhere. While the characters remain the same, the story is constantly updated. Add to this the secrets that are being kept and the pleasure of watching becomes even higher.
The movie was very successful thanks to its fluidity and attempts to keep the story fresh. I loved the final scene, every change in the script was in line with the lifestyles that the characters exhibited and reflected. I can say that it was one of the rare movies that I liked the ending.
There are a few scenes in Harpoon that I found silly. Regardless of the success of the story, they were unnecessary and disgusting. I've seen countless movies where people, in desperation, resort to various means to satisfy their hunger and thirst, including eating each other, but in every one of them the desperation to survive was perfectly portrayed. In Harpoon, on the other hand, the characters discuss the idea of eating each other before they are hungry and thirsty enough. They didn't portray desperation well enough.
In terms of acting performances, I think the three characters did their best. At least they stayed in harmony with the story of the movie. Sasha (played by Emily Tyra), the female character, added the most value to the movie with her past experiences and what she caused.
Apart from the final scene, I liked the script and the surprises in it the most. It took the movie out of predictability and added a lot of mystery. The most mysterious and enjoyable scene was the last scene. I won't spoil the movie for you by telling you about it, let those who want to see it watch it.
The movie Harpoon contains a few disturbing scenes and a lot of swearing. If these are acceptable to you, I recommend you to watch the movie, but it is worth repeating; be careful with whom you watch the movie.
