The rise and Fall of Game of Thrones.

This post will include spoilers from Game of Thrones/ Song of Ice an Fire.

For me Game of Thrones/ Song of Ice and Fire are not the best books/ tv series ever created. If we talking books I prefer Witcher and Berserk. And there are some tv series I enjoyed as much or more than GoT. With that being said GoT had awesome 4 or 5 seasons. After that it caught up with books and started getting worse. But those first 4-5 seasons were among the best I have seen in TV shows. I already mentioned Berserk and Witcher as my favorite books so it should not be surprising that I enjoy medieval fantasy setting. GoT also introduced me to to a bunch of interesting characters and factions. Most of those characters were not great people others who were more like heroes or paragons had one thing in common- they were quite stupid. For example Ned Stark warned Cersei that he knows about the incest. Robb Stark wed for love despite giving his word to merry another girl. Tywin despite being the most powerful man in westeros also made a single mistake...He was not a good father. One of my favorite characters was Oberyn but he played with his food the Mountain too much. He was too obsessed with getting Mountain to confess. All those flaws made those characters great. But I would argue that my favorite character mercenary named Bronn made no mistakes and played the game perfectly. He was not some highborn lord or paragon of virtue. No he was an opportunist cutthroat who was very good with the sword and was not held back by things like honor, morals or friendship. In Bronn's book the interest and survival of Bronn always came first. That let him not only survive but also thrive in a harsh world were many other characters failed. You may ask me why I was rooting for such a fellow. Well in RPG games I often play an evil/ renegade character so Bronn seemed like a character I would create. Also while Bronn was evil bastard he was honest about it and was not pretending to be someone else.

Besides a great grey characters this show also offered plenty of political intrigue. Most characters were plotting how to get/keep the Iron Throne. I loved seeing various people and fractions scheming and betraying one another. The story in Game of Thrones was also very complex because it had several main characters and was shown from various points of views. It had many awesome moments like Jon becoming king of the north. Sadly as the story went on I was less and less interested in the show. I was less interested in ,,main plot''- uniting everyone to fight the White Walkers. I much prefered people/ factions to be divided and biting at each other's throats/ stabbing each other in the back. If it were up to me I would have not included White Walkers in the story at all/ left them just as rumor/ myth. Sadly that is not how the story went. And I really hated how Bran stark became a king in the end.
