We have seen many positive reviews of this great Christopher Nolan movie. Non linear, psychological thriller, this movie is really a wonderful mind bending movie. So I will write something about this movie of classic direction and I will do the endeavor to be documented with Memento or Nolan lovers. I will not write anything related to movie info, because there are heaps of reviews about this. I will only try to explain the complex parts of the movie.

So then those who have not seen Memento should not read this article.

Lenny:

In the movie, Leonard Shelby is a San Francisco insurance investigator. He lives with his wife Catherine. One night, Lenny wakes up to find his wife's pillow next to his bed empty and heads for the bathroom with a pistol. He witnesses his wife being raped by a masked man. Lenny shoots and kills the masked man. But another of the man's accomplices attacks Lenny from behind and injures him. The head injury causes Lenny to develop anterograde amnesia, or short-time memory-related disorder. Lenny suffers previous injuries. Although he can remember everything, Lenny's brain does not create any new memories. After 15 minutes, his memory resets. Besides, nothing more about his early life is shown in the movie.

Sammy Jankis:

The Sammy Jankis case is one of Lenny's first insurance investigation cases. Sammy and his wife are in a tragic car accident. After the accident, Sammy can't hold any new memories in his brain memory. But Lenny's job is basically to prioritize the interests of his insurance company. So in his primary investigation, he rejects Sammy Jankis as not a very good actor and receives money from his insurance. When the financial requirements for Sammy's wife become impossible to continue, he goes into depression and goes to check on Sammy. Around 3 When Sammy was asked to push insulin, he did it 3 times. Sammy's wife went into a coma due to hypoglycemia due to an overdose of insulin, and never recovered.
Sammy Jankis was later seen receiving treatment at the hospital.

Teddy / John Edward Gammell:

Teddy is an undercover police officer who was handling the case of Lenny's wife. He sympathizes with Lenny's plight. Assists Lenny with another escaped criminal. Lenny later realizes that Teddy is actually John Edward Gammell. He is using Lenny to kill drug dealers for his own interests. So Lenny kills Teddy.

Natalie, Jimmy,

DrNatalie is a bartender.Jimmy's girlfriend. Jimmy's business partner can also be said. Jimmy and Dodd are both drug dealers but each other's counterpart. Natalie uses Lennie to eliminate Dodd.

This was his characteristic portrayal of Lenny or Leonard as himself in the movie.
Now we will see what was the real story in the movie Memento;

Lenny's wife developed anterograde amnesia in the incident at Lenny's house, but Lenny's wife did not die. Lenny's wife had diabetes. Lenny was the one who pushed insulin into his wife's body. That case was closed by the police, which was being covered by Teddy.
The character of Sammy Jankis that Lenny was describing to the police officer on the phone was actually Lenny. Due to a similar disease, Lenny himself was improvising the character of Sammy Jankis to present the events in his life in a sympathetic way or trying to hide his guilt.
When the movie shows Sammy Jankis sitting in a hospital wheelchair when a man walks past him, Lenny is briefly seen in the wheelchair.

Teddy uses Lenny's revenge mind setup here. Natalie is later seen doing the same when Dodd is run out of town by Lenny.

Lenny actually killed John G a long time ago through the information given by Teddy. Now the question is if Lenny writes down the information with pictures of everything as a souvenir, then why doesn't he put up his picture after killing John G? Here we see several times Lenny's picture or Seeing the other burning scenes, Lenny himself doesn't want this thing to end at all. Again and again, the intense addiction to revenge in Lenny's memory leaves Teddy in a quandary. Teddy tells Lenny to kill the accused every time, but when the memory resets 15 minutes later, he only cares about revenge. This may be because the rape of his wife had a devastating impact on Lenny's last memory, which is why every 15 minutes his When the memory resets, he becomes obsessed with revenge.

Now we move to Jimmy's only scene with Lenny, if we look at Lenny's first impression with Jimmy, it can be seen that Lenny had a prior acquaintance with Jimmy. When Lenny was hitting Jimmy, Sammy uttered his name. Maybe Lenny has talked to Jimmy a few times before or maybe Lenny knows Sammy through Teddy. If not, Sammy's name should not be uttered in Jimmy's mouth. Here it is fairly certain that Sammy is actually Lenny or Leonard.

The antagonist character of the movie is Teddy. If we are clear about Lenny's Teddy's crafty character with Don't Believe His Lies written on the back of the picture, why does one scene ask Lenny to go to Teddy's safety place? Actually, Teddy doesn't want Lenny to do any harm, or he sends Lenny somewhere else because his real job is done. As such, after Jimmy is killed, the conversation with Lennie saying "it's you Sammy, you killed your wife" becomes fairly acceptable.

Hopefully those who were in trouble with Memento or critical issues have been fairly cleared. Remember that everything we saw in the movie was seen as Lenny or Leonard. So you may not believe Teddy. This is where Christopher Nolan shows his magic .
