Siguiendo con la idea de los actores, el siguiente actor del que quiero hablar es Nick Cage, y es que posiblemente uno de los actores más reconocidos de la historia y con una cantidad de películas sorprendente, tenía que estar si o si en un top de actores que sin importar el director, lo dan todo y hacen un gran trabajo independientemente de la personalidad tanto del personaje, como del actor. Nick Cage es uno de esos actores que obtiene papeles que solo pueden ser hechos por él, y que, además, escoge tantas cosas interesantes que ya no se le puede encasquillar en un solo papel; sino todo lo contrario, solo se le puede mencionar como Nick Cage. Continuing with the idea of actors, the next actor I want to talk about is Nick Cage, and possibly one of the most recognized actors in history and with a surprising number of films, had to be if or if in a top of actors who regardless of the director, give their all and do a great job regardless of the personality of both the character and the actor. una de las mejores películas de 2021 está protagonizada por un Nick Cage gordo e imponente que vive en el bosque con una mascota muy peculiar, un cerdo. Un día, después de que unos delincuentes le secuestran la mascota, Nick busca venganza en lo que parece será otra John Wick, pero termina siendo una película mucho más introspectiva e interesante, con un estudio de personaje poco visto en este tipo de películas de venganza, con un ritmo extraño y durando apenas 91 minutos, Pig es una gran película que recomiendo fielmente, pero también es obvio que esta película no hubiese funcionado si su protagonista no fuese Nick Cage, que, para muchos, da la mejor actuación de su carrera.

one of the best films of 2021 stars a fat and imposing Nick Cage who lives in the woods with a very peculiar pet, a pig. One day, after some criminals kidnap his pet, Nick seeks revenge in what seems like it will be another John Wick, but ends up being a much more introspective and interesting film, with a character study rarely seen in this type of revenge films, with a strange pace and lasting just 91 minutes, Pig is a great film that I faithfully recommend, but it is also obvious that this film would not have worked if its protagonist was not Nick Cage, who, for many, gives the best performance of his career.

sé que dije que iba a hablar sobre actores y no directores, pero quiero hacer un paréntesis aquí porque si me toca mencionar a Panos Cosmatos, tengo que recomendar the viewing, un capítulo de una serie de netflix producida por Guillermo del Toro. Paréntesis aparte, antes de esa locura de obra que es the viewing, Cosmatos hizo algo así como un John Wick lovecraftiano con Nick Cage de protagonista, vuelto loco y lleno de sangre buscando venganza por su esposa que fue secuestrada por un grupo satanista que busca hacer algo más grande, algo que en las dos horas de película no podremos ni imaginar hasta verlo, verlo y disfrutarlo porque te aseguro que cualquier fanático de Nick Cage amó esta película tanto por su excesiva sangre y violencia, como por la actuación llena de locura que da el actor que, a su vez, también es despiadada y sin una pizca de bondad.

I know I said I was going to talk about actors and not directors, but I want to digress here because if it's my turn to mention Panos Cosmatos, I have to recommend the viewing, an episode of a netflix series produced by Guillermo del Toro. Parenthesis aside, before that crazy piece of work that is the viewing, Cosmatos made something like a lovecraftian John Wick with Nick Cage as the main character, gone mad and full of blood seeking revenge for his wife who was kidnapped by a satanist group looking to do something bigger, something that in the two hours of film we can't even imagine until we see it, watch it and enjoy it because I assure you that any Nick Cage fan loved this film both for its excessive blood and violence, as well as for the actor's insanity-filled performance which, in turn, is also ruthless and without a shred of kindness.

escoger esta película fue difícil, difícil porque tenía pensado Dreams Scenario, spiderverse, Kick Ass, o hasta la película sobre Nick Cage. Ir por el catálogo de Nick Cage es todo un sube y baja tanto de emociones como de géneros pero si me toca recomendar alguna película que aumente su nivel por el simple hecho de tener a Nick Cage, tiene que ser longlegs, con un Cage maquillado y asesino en serie que sé que pondrá a más de uno con los pelos de punta. Su última película es grandiosa y sin desmeritar a todas las grandes actuaciones que carga en su espalda, Longlegs es una que se volvió instantáneamente característica.

choosing this movie was difficult, difficult because I had in mind Dreams Scenario, spiderverse, Kick Ass, or even the Nick Cage movie. Going through Nick Cage's catalog is a whole seesaw of emotions and genres but if I have to recommend a movie that raises the bar for the simple fact of having Nick Cage, it has to be longlegs, with a made-up Cage and serial killer that I know will make more than one person's hair stand on end. His last film is great and without detracting from all the great performances he carries on his back, Longlegs is one that became instantly distinctive.
