Cine TV Contest #136 - Favorite Movie with Best Friends: A Review On _One Of Them Days_.

INTRODUCTION

ONE OF THEM DAYS (2025) is a American Short Tragicomedy movie featuring; Keke Palmer known as Dreux and SZA as Alyssa , they are two best friends and buddies, with different personalities, but had each other's back and full support. It was directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton.

SYNOPSIS

Dreux and Allyssa , both bestfriends and roommates, had 9 hours to get their rent money, after Alyssa's boyfriend used their rent to purchase a Gucci shirt and ran away from the house . They embarked on a journey to search for their rent after getting a threat of eviction from their landlord in few hours.

In search of their rent money, they experienced alot of obstacles, moments of brief joy, fight, misunderstanding and many other, but they still stood by each other regardless of this circumstances.
They were trying to navigate life and still keep their friendship regardless of their different personalities.

THE THEME OF FRIENDSHIP AND IT VALUES AS DEPICTED IN ONE OF THEM DAYS( 2025).

1 . LIFE SUPPORT AND BACKBONES AS FRIENDS.

Allyssa and Dreux gave each other life support and were each others backbones, and this is one of the core values of friendship. It was depicted in the following ways;

Dreux in this movie is still struggling with her identity and self esteem, but Allyssa did a good job in making her see her worth. This can be seen during her preparation for an interview, Allyssa supported her with positive words and encouragement and on the other hand Allyson who's an amazing artist , but always neglected her works, Dreux never stopped valuing her art work, even till the end.
The level of support between the two friends, is one that should be emulated in every friendship.

When Dreux was doubting her ability to get a job at her dream firm, Allyssa helped her to understand her worth and also when she was dealing with expressing herself to merniac , Allyssa also helped her in dealing with her timidity.

Also, Dreux supported Alyssa in her career,Alyssa totally neglected her painting, but Dreux never gave up on her friend, she was the backbone to Allyssa's art show and also gave her a platform for opportunities at end , with the help of Bethany.

Lastly, at the end Deux also got her dream job and also was able to navigate her relationship with Meniac.
Allyssa understood she deserves someone better and left her boyfriend.

They supported themselves mentally, emotionally and in many ways. Friends support each other and it was depicted in this movie.

2 . LIFE STRUGGLES, CONFLICTS AND FORGIVENESS IN FRIENDSHIP.

Friendship and life isn't bed of roses and in this movie we were meant to understand the struggles of friendship in their lives, regardless of their differences they they stood by each other.

Allyssa's boyfriend running with their rent is enough to separate both friends, because the money was given to Alyssa, they both stood by each other, regardless of her wrong, they fought together to raise the money, to the point they went for a loan , but both had a very low credit score.

Even when Allyssa almost ruined her opportunity of getting a job, by creating a fight that could be avoided , she forgave her after a word battle between both friends.

Deux volunteered to sell her blood, to raise their rent money, but at the end Allyson wasted all her blood in a fight ,Allyson took the risk of climbing an electric pole to steal a sneaker worth $2,500 in King Lolo hood which lead them into life threatening issue with the the king of the hood.

Conflict made their friendship stronger, because they forgave and loved each other more.

MORAL LESSONS / OPINION

• I hated the fact that Alyssa was just a destroyer, she destroys everything Dreux plans, from the beginning, the moment she gave out their rent, to the point she shared their location and afterward, they got the money, because of her it was taken again.
  But at the end of the movie she acted right, by identifying King Lolo as one of the wanted debtors and reporting him immediately to the police.

• I learnt alot about friendship in this movie, although I'm an introvert, only have one best friend, we love and have made sacrifices for each other.
  Also, my best friend did alot in bringing the best in me, even when I was down with life challenges, also I have been a source of encouragement to her.

• The part of this movie I find very interesting and funny is the part where Allyssa and Dreux went to apply for a loan and they asked the lady attending to them to merge their credit scores together to enable them take a loan.
  It was really hilarious, and also the part Lucky was warning them not to get into the cycle of debt because of interest.
  And lastly, the last part, where they talked about their love for each other, it was an happy ever after moment.

• The cast all did great and excellent, especially the lead actresses Keke Palmer and SZA.

• One of them days is an interesting and funny movie, I would recommend for everyone, it's worth your time.
