in Educationlast month

Happy people are better equipped to cope with stress and bounce back from setbacks. Being in a happy state of mind can make us more productive at work and other sphere of life. Happiness is important because it improves both mental and physical health, boosts success, and leads to stronger relationships. A key reason for its importance is its positive effect on overall well-being, such as increased resilience, a stronger immune system, and greater life satisfaction. However, it is hard to find the key reason of happiness. Sanskrit have highlighted an important aspects to stay happy and it says ;

अलब्धैः सह सौहार्दं पण्डितै सह् संकथा |
उत्तमैः सह सङ्गश्च विधेया सुखमिच्छता ||

Alabdhaih saha sauhaardam panditai saha sankathaa.
Uttmaih saha sangashcha vidheyaa sukhamicchataa.

Alabdhaaih = not met with earlier.
saha = with.
Sauhaardam = friendship.
Panditaih = learned and wise persons.
Sankathaa = discussion over a subject.
Uttmaih = superior and honourable
persons.
Sangashcha = sangah + cha.
Sangah = association with or the company of.
Vidheyaa = should be done
Sukhamicchataa = sukham + icchataa.
Sukham = happiness.
Icchataa = desire, wish.

I.e. If you wish to be happy forever, then behave friendly even with those who are not known to you before. Stay in touch with learned and gentle people and discuss various topics and always remain in touch with superior and honourable persons who are respected in the society.

Feeling connected to others is a strong predictor of happiness and reduces feelings of loneliness. By being into a friendly mood and in good company help us to remain in positive frame of mind. Cultivating happiness involves developing a positive mindset, maintaining strong social connections, living a healthy lifestyle, and engaging in meaningful activities that align with personal values.

Your so right about staying close to learned people, that part really stood out to me. When I make time for a small chat or reading from wise minds, I notice my work gets calmer and more prodcutive. I dont always manage it, but even a 10 minute talk with good people shifts my mood :). As someone who deals with numbers all day, this kind of satsang vibe keeps the heart light and the head clear, like balancing a ledger with smiles.
