Also, why are deaths in Canadian nursing homes so high compared to the USA? How does the rest of the world fare in that regard?

LOL, yes, in that order! :P

It's so high because many were going to die anyways, get labeled COVID. Plus they weren't protected as the lockdown/social distancing was claimed to protect the old... fail. Stay safe, save lives... bullshit.

In the US, if you ignore the state of New York, 55% of the Covid-19 deaths were at nursing homes. Several states sent the elderly who tested positive for Covid-19 sent back to nursing homes, which led to many more nursing home deaths. Is it worse in Canada?
