CDC over-counted more than 72,000 COVID-19 deaths

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) had been over-counting COVID-19 deaths, and then quietly corrected the data recently. Check the article published by Just the News:

CDC lowers COVID-19 death count by tens of thousands

...
According to the agency, the government's algorithm over-counted COVID-related deaths by 72,277 across 26 states, specifically including 24% of pediatric deaths (416).

On March 15, the data on the CDC's website was altered due to what, in a footnote, was explained as a "coding logic error."
...
The large drop in the figure of pediatric deaths due to COVID-19 puts the total number at 1,341 nationwide. Children have accounted for about 19% of all COVID-19 cases, though just 0.00%-0.01% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in deaths.
...
To this day, the CDC's COVID death count does not establish a clear difference between individuals who died as a result of COVID-19, and those who died with COVID-19. A more specific differentiating standard between the two distinct types of death could lead to a further downward revision of the country's COVID death count.

They were inflating COVID-19 death because of some "coding logic error". I don't know if this error was intentional or not, but this data could have been used to justify or encourage COVID-19 vaccination including children.

Below is the link to CDC's COVID-19 data tracker with cases and deaths in the US:

Demographic Trends of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the US reported to CDC

If you check deaths by age group data, you can see death rate of children under age 18 is less than 0.1%. I don't see why children should be vaccinated.

By the way, this is not the first time CDC published misleading data exaggerating danger of COVID-19. Here is an article about Florida's COVID-19 cases by New York Post:

CDC amends Florida’s COVID-19 numbers after pushback from state officials

...
After the CDC website showed record high numbers for Sunday, Aug. 8, the Florida Department of Health balked, accusing the agency of folding several days of new cases into one.

The gap was significant, with the CDC initially claiming there were 28,317 new cases on Sunday, while the Florida DOH puts that number at 15,319.

On Tuesday the CDC adjusted its number down to 19,584.

After the initial CDC numbers were released, a deluge of negative press directed at Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis ensued, leading the Florida DOH and other officials to take to Twitter to decry the error.

Of course, people(including web developers) can make coding errors. But I'm not sure adding up integer numbers is so complex and prone to such errors. It's basic arithmetic done by computers.

I have a feeling that they are doing everything they can, from warning about "winter of severe illness and death" to making basic numerical errors, to scare people and push COVID-19 vaccination to everyone including children.

Now that winter is already over, I wonder how many unvaccinated people suffered because of "severe illness and death". As far as I can tell, healthy unvaccinated people seem to be doing fine, including myself.
