I haven't seen all the details yet but there was an announcement that he was picking up the gunman's gun when police arrived and they shot him. If the police were called to the scene of an active shooting things can happen rather quickly since they don't know who the active shooter is, we also don't know yet if they told him to drop it, whether he did or didn't and tried to explain he wasn't....those are still details that have to yet be release. This was an extremely sad event for sure.
