Don't be he did it to himself. Evidently the Pfizer project wasn't his but somehow he swooped in and took control. It was suppose to go to another reporter from what the board understood. O'Keefe explains it in a video he released the day he was packing up his office. I take it PV was going to branch out with different reporters investigating different stories but O'keefe said there must have been some misunderstanding because he thought the board knew he was going to do the project. I guess he wasn't well liked by some of the employees as he grovels through apologizing to them over past behaviors towards them. He gave the board the ultimatum to fire themselves so to speak and when he showed up for a board meeting they weren't gone but had instead collected up the employees that had issues with him and they were waiting to have a discussion about those issues. At the end he grovels his way out the door. I think it was valued-customer who posted up the farewell video on his blog if you want to check it out.
