Indonesia has many types of bananas that are served in different ways. There are bananas specifically for eating raw, there are types of bananas that are better served boiled, there are types of bananas that are delicious for frying, and some are specifically for making cakes.

In the garden, I have all these types of bananas and I am so grateful.

This time I will share a traditional Indonesian breakfast, namely boiled bananas.

This boiled banana dish uses a type of banana that is ripe but has a hard texture so that when it is boiled it doesn't crumble.

The inside of these bananas after boiling are soft but not crushed. The texture is still good. This is different if you use bananas that are only for eating. The texture will crumble when boiled.

Do not boil it too long. Just about 10-15 minutes.

I serve boiled banana topped with cinnamon.

I added a little detail. I add popcorns as a sweetener to serve.

The addition of Popcorns is not in the original presentation. It's just my creativity.

Herbal Tea from Butterfly Pea Flowers

I compliment this traditional breakfast with a warm glass of herbal tea. I brew dried butterfly pea flowers.

I have a large supply of Butterfly Pea flowers as I harvest them daily.

Anyway, in several large cities in Indonesia, this type of banana is quite expensive. So I am lucky to get these bananas for free from my garden.

Would you like to try this simple breakfast?

Wish I could grow bananas here in my garden. They are cheap here though!

Some the type of bananas are expensive. But yeah in general they are cheap.

Thanks for stopping by, dear. Have a great day

What a striking color combination. I love the color of the tea, and I also have never seen ripe bananas boiled before, didn't even know it was possible. I'm used to eating green boiled plantains or bananas, but I guess a good firm variety of ripe banana could hold up to it.

Thanks @anggreklestari for sharing this with us.

Thank you so much for curating my post.

In Indonesia people used bananas as breakfast or snack for coffee time. But with differt variety of bananas :)

That looks and sounds delicious!

Thank you 😊
