ecoTrain Question Of The Week Season 6 #4 TIE UP POST: JUDGEMENT

in ecoTrain3 years ago
Authored by @eco-alex

Thank you to everyone who posted on this weeks QOTW! Your answers were, as always, inspiring, thought provoking and.. personal.. which is what we always want to see! Im also happy to see our Hive curators giving so many great up-votes to your posts.. way to go everyone! Id like to mention that this week most of the rewards from this post are going to the most undervalued posts that I think were great posts but didn't get so many up-votes. What better way to ensure we are all happy and motivated to keep posting!?

So lets see what you all thought! To make it fun and easy i have taken the best quotes from all of your posts and copied them below. Its such a quick and fun way to see what we all thought without having to read so many posts! Enjoy!

Congratulations to @gabrieladifazio who is this weeks main beneficiary on this post. I think your post was fantastic, thank you for sharing and also translating your post for us all to read.. Wise wonderful words!

@thisismylife
Personally, I've learned to be at least aware of my judgemental thoughts so that I can rephrase it or maybe even not speak the words and leave them as thoughts only in my adult life when I was being judged and put on trial for things I didn't do.

@blezyn
Sometimes things may not truly be what they appear to be. So before we rush into judgement, let's take a step back and see the clearer picture.

@gabrieladifazio
Not only do we judge others, but we also judge ourselves. I can say from experience that we can judge ourselves more than we judge others, and with far more damage

What we judge is closely linked to us, that way in which we see and feel the world around us, because from a series of personal thoughts, stereotypes and generalities conceived as a result of those experiences to which we have been subjected by life .

@riverflows
The ego will judge impulsively. It's quick reaction, often immediate, judging people on how they look, speak, act. The more we allow this, the more it happens. We judge without paying attention to why we might be judging and what the effect of this might be, or whether we are even right - and how subjective 'right' might be.

The more I practice, the easier it becomes.

It's a fierce act of resistance to the stories that imprison and bind us, and that separate us from our true selves.

@mrarhat
Just because I'm human doesn't always mean I'm right. I also make mistakes. But if I realize that this could lead to a bad outcome, I will take steps to make the situation better.

I stand myself in that place before judging anyone. I try to judge that situation myself. But I never like to judge one-sidedness. This leads to wrong results in all cases.

@princessbusayo
We easily judge people from afar without moving close to them to understand them and why they put up such attitudes. We tend to pass our unfair judgement and didn't wait for an answer.

Do not judge others from afar. Try to move closer to them. Most of them might be trying to solve a problem in their lives and if you can help them, it isn't a crime. They will feel happy. Learn to see it in a bigger picture and never conclude things quickly.

@dwixer
Imagine you're walking in the woods, and suddenly you see a dog, looking cute and friendly but as you approached it to pet it, it snarls and tries to bite you. Suddenly, the dog no longer looks that cute and friendly to you, and you possibly feel anger. But as the wind blows, the leaves on the ground are carried away and you realize the dog's leg was caught in a trap. Now you feel compassion for the dog, knowing it was aggressive because it was in pain and suffering.

Sometimes, no matter how much we try, we still end up judging others, it could be over small matters like someone coming late to work or over big matters like someone selfish and greedy.

@kemmyb
According to the Oxford dictionary, judgement is the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions. Note the use of the word 'sensible'. I doubt most of us stick to sensibility when we judge others. We are often quick to see the negative part of things and form our conclusions based on it.

I believe judging others makes us see them in a certain way and it's very hard to change such thinking. We shouldn't judge at all! Being judgmental robs us of the opportunity to strengthen our empathic side.

@kawsar8035
In reality, we make assumptions or judgments about others, like ourselves. Which is not desirable at all. Because we have to keep quiet until we know about someone. There is a lot of research to be done in judging a person. Only then can we give the right verdict!

The most important thing to me before judging is to correct yourself first. Because if we cannot correct ourselves first, then justice can never be expected from us.

@joseph1956
Why do we judge? Because it is part of our free will and forms an indivisible part of society, whether it is fair or not depends on the lens through which you look at it or the side you are on, because fair derives from justice, and justice is not always fair, because it is subject to the law.

@yolimarag
One of the things that I have seen a lot nowadays, is that most people feel they have the right to judge others in social networks, people do not care to say what they think of others and throw what their mind throws, not caring if they affect others with their reproaches or destructive criticism and all this depends on the way of thinking as I said before.

Jjudging is bad if it is done in a negative way to hurt and not to edify others, if we judge and we are sincere and want the other person to improve, we do it in the best way or with the best disposition even if this brings as a consequence conflicts since the other person may not be prepared to be judged.

@trucklife-family
There is a time and a place for judgement and it does not always have to be attached to something negative. Judging safety, is vital for our survival, it all depends on the context I guess.

We need to really listen to ourselves and let our inner voice guide us, because inside we all know what is right and wrong, we know which direction we need to take!

@actioncats
NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT THE LEAK IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE BUT THOSE WHO LIVE IN IT

We are not all the same, that perhaps our upbringing and environment makes us see things from a totally different perspective, what for me may be totally normal and acceptable may not be for someone else.

@stortebeker
Why it is that we judge, I would say, because we believe in something. We believe in this value strongly enough to stand up for it, if necessary, and oppose the opposition. Unfortunately, this opposition feels the same way, about other issues, feeling the need to make a stand for it too. Noble as each belief may be, ... this is how wars get started!

@olivia08
There is no need to judge people around. We don't know what is their problems and difficulties that they had been through. Even a person inside the house, if you don't have enough communication, we could not determine what is their feeling deep inside and the outside. Don't judge someone if you don't want to be judged.

We need to focus on what we could share with the humanities. Let us help each other. Avoid arguments and misunderstanding to gain a peaceful living.

@evev
Love is a contemplative, innocent, compassionate and respectful relationship that is not expressed to a single being, it is a relationship of affinity with everyone and for everyone, which guides us to establish healthy, ecological, aesthetic and lasting coexistence links, which bring well-being to all our integrity where judgment has no place.

@eco-alex
When we judge others it is a reflection of that which we judge in ourselves.

When we learn to love and forgive ourselves
When we learn to empathise
All judgement dissolves.

I really like how you picked your favorite quite from each article! When looking at tie-up posts, reading the first sentences of each entry I would know if I had read it or not. But this way it makes me want to read the ones I haven't. Thank you again for this great challenge!
