Unwrap me like one of your French girls

I cast my eyes across what lay infront of me. A grin slowly started to spread across my face.

The box seemed impenetrable and yet my anxietment to get inside - to see it's contents made me almost giddy. I took my knife out of it's pouch on my hip and slit the plastic parcel tape in one smooth action. Once my knife was back safely, I pulled the box flaps open and took out the padding. Then I carefully removed one item at a time.

Yes, I absolutely felt just like a kid on Christmas morning, not gonna lie!

Box after box I examined each and revelled in the creative sparks that began taking hold in my mind and body. It was thrilling. I carefully pulled out the contents smelling each package with my eyes closed. By now I just wanted to dive right in with my new range, but I knew that the right time would need proper preparation and I still needed to chop a slab of wax into sizeable chunks first. I derive enjoyment out of cleaving wax slabs into pieces with my chisel and hammer.

But right at that moment, I was just enjoying what these items meant, what they would become, the transformation they would undergo.

Awww and this company still puts in little Thank You gifts. How freaking cool! I think it's the little things like this that make me feel valued as a customer. Their products are also excellent quality.

The first layer was exciting for LL as she happily accepted the big bag of green pea seeds for planting in the veggie box to train up the trellis. You can never have too many green pea seeds.

Then I found the essential oils. I had ordered Vanilla, Jasmine and Coffee Bean. Coffee flavoured candles? Yes please, count me in!

It was like a ritual to lay each item out and enjoy it before using it. Cinnamon bark, Lavender and Jasmine flowers and the most stunning maroon, violet-red Rose petals I've ever held.

A few days later I was able to start my new range with a bang! I only had two containers and realised that I was almost out of wick sustainers, but I could make these two as prototypes.

Everything that I needed was placed in preparation at the place I would need it. I also needed to warm the containers with hot water to lengthen the cooling time and produce a more even set. It's not always possible and depends on weather factors as well, but I wanted to try help it along as best I could.

I felt like Mickey Mouse in the original Fantasia movie. Casting my hands across the items and each one at their correct moment came to life and in a magical flurry, my new candle range was born.

I'm calling it "Forever Autumn"

Jasmine scented wax decorated with fall leaves, rose petals, Jasmine flowers and gemstones.

I'm very happy with how they turned out and with 2 weeks to go before my next advertising campaign stats, I better get a move on with making stock. The website is under a complete overhaul and I think it's going to be nice when it's done. Things are happening albeit not as quickly as I would like them to.

What do you think of the products I got for my new range and my prototypes?

Do you get as excited about unboxing supplies when you receive them? Let me know in the comments.

Always exciting to receive packages even if we are the ones who ordered them, lol! Just like a Christmas present :)

Looks like they're fab products and I can only imagine the scent of the essential oils💗

Hi FarmGirl

It's so true, unboxing is always fun and this particular parcel I'd been putting off ordering for months so when I finally did, it was even better.

The essential oils are awesome to work with, they fill the house with such a beautiful ambience and brighten the atmosphere.

Thanks for having a read. Hope you are well.

Hmmm, I can almost smell the oils now hehe :) It certainly feels warm when the aroma of essential oils fills the home.

I am well, thank you :) And I trust you are too?

You have a great choice :) I love Vanilla essential oil.

You made me remember about my rose petal stocks. Now just for tea, but the next time I would buy rose petals for bathing :)

You and I both, Vanilla is my top favourite followed by Jasmine and Rose Geranium.

Oh I'm so glad to read that you're going to pamper yourself with a rose petal bath, it sounds glorious!

Have a great day. 🌻

Have a great day 🌸 now Im having a cup of coffee :)

Oh I love it!! That Patchouli looks so so natural! Yes, I know.. IT IS NATURAL! Lol, but I only have the oil, I didn’t know that you could buy it in that way, so… it’s great! I love these things, so useful for cleaning the energy! I also do these kind of witchy things and I really love it!

Hello Belug

Thanks so much, I haven't opened the patchouli yet but I'm sure that it's going to be amazingly good. I'll use it in a candle as I have the essential oil for it too, the smell reminds me of the ocean for some weird reason.

Oh don't get me started on all of the energy cleansing things I have sitting in boxes. I ran an online esoteric shop many years back and had such lovely items that found their way to me and then to their forever homes. Bells and incense, candles, books, even clothing. Met so many beautiful people along the way too, clearly we are a good bunch and I'm including you 🌻

Vanilla is always great. Sometimes when I am baking or using vanilla extract for something else, I will put a dab below my ear or decolletage like perfume. MMMMMmmmmmm..... so nice. Talk about aroma therapy.

Jasmine is close to the top of my list of scents too. I have a vine of white Jasmine entwining a corner of my back deck. It smells SO wonderful when it is blooming. It is a toss up for me between the smell of Jasmine and Honeysuckle.... both so pleasant.

Coffee.... I love coffee and I love the smell of it. If I had a candle burning that smelled like coffee, I might be enticed to make and drink more. Maybe I should resist. 😄

I love that inner-child Christmas feeling and yes, anytime I receive anything that I can create with, I get pretty excited.

Enjoyed your post.

Vanilla is just that good, I know what you mean. Most of my deoderant and perfume is vanilla. When I wanted to sell my first house, I actually sprayed diluted vanilla extract onto my couches and curtains and apart from the fact that I had the most wonderful estate agent, I think the vanilla clinched the deal.

I wish it was tropical enough here to grow vanilla.

The scent wafting across from Jasmine flowers is just heavenly, my neighbour here has both Jasmine and Honeysuckle and for some reason in the evenings I can smell it and it just bolsters my spirit. It's the only reason I go onto the deck at night lol. I had a lovely Jasmine that had just started to flower but I had to move so I gifted it to a good friend of mine. He sends me photos of it every now and again, so I'm glad it's where it should be.

People like you and me make gifting easy. Something that smells delicious will always be spot on 😁

I actually didn't expect my Jasmine vine to still be here as I thought our winter would kill it, but our last few winters have been mild, so this is the fourth summer it has lived happily snuggled close to the base of the deck. Every year it goes further and further. I have certainly enjoyed it. That is nice that your friend sends you photos of the one you gifted him.

I have heard about putting a little cinnamon, sugar and butter in the over, just on warm, to make a house smell inviting as if homemade cinnamon rolls are baking. It truly is amazing how scents affect us, whether we are aware or not.

I know I had a photo of it curling around the old metal chair, but it is also spreading out across the deck rail.

Oh yes, I saw that photo in your latest post, it just looks so right, the perfect spot to sit and literally smell the flowers! I love how you've decorated everything with so much colour and flair, it's beautiful. I wish your Jasmine many mild winters to come.

It looks so pretttty! 😍 I bet it smells heavenly too! Such an awesome talent. Great job @andrastia! :)

Thank you so much @michelleloh168 I appreciate that. I do so love making candles and sharing my love for them with people, it brings me great joy.

What is your favourite scent?

Such a great joy for me to see people enjoy things they love to do.

Oh i like the Jasmine and Lavender scent :)

Hi @andrastia! Yes, it is totally exciting when you get supplies to make something you've anticipated making! I only see one pic, but from it, they look lovely! I wish you luck with your endeavors! Take care! !LADY

Hi Elizabeth

Thanks for your message. It was such an exciting day, I really enjoyed it.

I'm not sure why you aren't seeing the other photos, really strange, I will see if there's something wrong on my end, thanks for letting me know 🌻

You bet @andrastia! Sometimes the blockchain can do interesting things. Just tonight, my husband wasn't seeing his own, but I could see it. Go figure! Anyway, take care!

Lol I can understand how that would confuse you both. I'll try editing the post and re-uploading the images, perhaps that will fix it. Have a lovely day
