I never thought.

Note: This poem was written by my boyfriend some time ago. I wanted to show it to him.

I never thought I would end up this lost
By the one I least expected
And though at first I thought I was just confused
It was what this empty chest was looking for the most.

In years of youth they say that everything carnal is only momentary
And that with time that fire dies out and everything passes.
But now... so many years of history
Have turned from a mere flame to a bonfire that fits no house.

The things that start out playing end up liking
But they don't prosper
That's what people say
Only they didn't count that the troubadour for the beautiful lady would be demented.

Knowing her in those years of youth and carnal feeling
I thought it would only be a one night stand
I couldn't have been more wrong
Since now I don't want a night... But a whole awakening.

From innocent kisses to moans in the dark
From moans to discussions
From those discussions to surrendering to other loves
And although those two bodies were separated.... The hearts are still together.

Those bodies over the years surrendered to other caresses
Something that really was the normal course
But that no one would erase the traces of the other....
It is what no one understands either physically or spiritually.

You can't find an explanation for the things of love
Much less when body and soul come together in every movement of passion.
There's not much left to say
Only that this young lady, is the owner of that poor heart.

Nunca pensé que terminaría así de perdido
Por quien menos esperaba
Y aunque al principio pensé que solo estaba confundido
Era lo que este vacío pecho mas buscaba.

En años de juventud dicen que todo lo carnal es solo momentáneo
Y que con el tiempo ese fuego se apaga y todo pasa
Pero ahora… tantos años de historia
Se han vuelto de una simple llama a una hogera que no cabe en ninguna casa.

Las cosas que comienzan jugando terminando gustando
Pero no prosperan
Eso dice la gente
Solo que no contaban que el trovador por la bella dama quedara demente.

Conocerla en esos años de juventud y sentir carnal
Pense que solo seria historia de una noche
Mas equivocado no pude estar
Ya que ahora no quiero una noche… Sino todo un despertar.

De besos inocentes a gemidos en la oscuridad
De gemidos a discusiones
De esas discusiones a entregarse a otros amores
Y aunque se separaron esos dos cuerpos…. Siguen juntos los corazones.

Esos cuerpos con los años se entregaron a otras caricias
Algo que realmente fue el transcurso normal
Pero que nadie borrara las huellas del otro…
Es lo que nadie entiende ya sea en lo físico o en lo espiritual.

No se le puede conseguir explicación a las cosas del amor
Mucho menos cuando cuerpo y alma se juntan en cada movimiento de pasión
No queda mucho por decir
Solo que esa joven dama, es dueña de ese pobre corazón.
