The passion of growing a garden| LOH 180

Greetings, my dear Ladies of Hive. I hope you are doing very well and may the blessings of health and well-being multiply for all of you.

I am back this week through the community to share my participation in the #180th edition of the contest that the ladies of Hive invite us to weekly. I'm excited to respond to the invitation extended to us by friend @kerrislravenhill. On this occasion, I'm going to answer the first of two questions this Hive lady leaves us with:

1️⃣ I recently renewed an old interest in gardening as a hobbyist growing flowers, fruits and vegetables outside my home. It may not save much on my food expenses, but this is more for personal satisfaction and to relearn old skills. Do you have a garden? Or do you wish you had one? What would you like to grow in your little paradise?

Vuelvo esta semana por la comunidad para compartir mi participación en la edición #180 del concurso al que nos invitan las damas de Hive semanalmente. Me entusiasma responder a la invitación que nos ha hecho la amiga @kerrislravenhill. En esta ocasión, voy a responder la primera pregunta de las dos que nos deja esta dama de Hive:

1️⃣ Recientemente renové un viejo interés por la jardinería como aficionado al cultivo de flores, frutas y verduras fuera de mi casa. Puede que no ahorre mucho en mis gastos de comida, pero esto es más para satisfacción personal y para volver a aprender viejas habilidades. ¿Tienes un jardín? ¿O desearías tener uno? ¿Qué te gustaría cultivar en tu pequeño paraíso?

As a plant lover, I decided to answer the first question because for as long as I can remember, having a garden and growing plants of all kinds, especially those that give us flowers, has been one of my passions.

In my house in Cumaná, I have a big house with an internal garden and a garden in the patio that I took care of with great care. Watering the bushes, removing the dry leaves and admiring the flowers that adorned my garden every day was one of the moments I enjoyed the most, while having a coffee among so much beauty.

Before I emigrated, my garden was one of my worries. So for my peace of mind, I distributed among my relatives most of my plants, those that I had in pots and could be transported to be taken care of. I left them in good hands and, from time to time, they report back to me how well cared for they are. The jasmine, for example, was planted in the ground, perfuming the evenings and always in bloom.

The plants left in my gardens also receive the necessary care to keep them alive and beautiful. I always hope to see them again when I return someday.

Como amante de las plantas, decidí responder a la primera pregunta porque desde que tengo uso de razón, tener un jardín y cultivar plantas de todo tipo, sobre todo de las que nos regalan flores ha sido una de mis pasiones.

En mi casa de Cumaná, tengo una casa grande con un jardín interno y con un jardín en el patio que cuidaba con mucho esmero. Regar las matas, quitar las hojitas secas y admirar las flores que adornaban mi jardín cada día era uno de los momentos que más disfrutaba, mientras me tomaba un café entre tanta belleza.

Antes de emigrar, mi jardín era una de mis preocupaciones. Así que para mi tranquilidad, repartí entre mis familiares la mayoría de mis plantas, las que tenía en macetas y se podían transportar para que me las cuidaran. Las dejé en buenas manos y, de vez en cuando, me reportan lo bien cuidadas que están. Sembrado en la tierra, por ejemplo, quedó el jazmín que perfumaba las noches y que siempre estaba florido.

Las plantas que quedaron en mis jardines, también reciben los cuidados necesarios para mantenerlas vivas y bonitas. Siempre guardo esperanza de volver a verlas cuando regrese algún día.

Here in Bogota, it couldn't be any different, I also wanted to have a little garden in my new home. It wasn't long after I arrived when my daughter, knowing my love for plants, gave me my first one.

Later, I bought a Sansevieria and a Palo de la felicidad that added warmth to my home. Also, my husband gave me a Poinsettia for Christmas, which brought color and joy to my small garden. Thus, I made my garden in this city.

I don't have much space to have a bigger garden as I would like, with more plants and many flowers, but the ones I have, for now, make me happy and allow me to enjoy the pleasure of taking care of them, giving them as gifts and admiring how beautiful they are. It is not written that I will keep only these, because I always want one more.

Aquí en Bogotá, no podía ser diferente, también quería tener un jardincito en mi nuevo hogar. No había pasado mucho tiempo de haber llegado cuando mi hija, conociendo mi amor por las plantas, me regaló la primera.

Luego, compré una Sansevieria y un Palo de la felicidad que le sumaron calidez a mi casa. También, mi esposo me regaló una Flor de Pascua en Navidad que le aportó color y alegría a mi pequeño jardín. Así, conformé mi jardín en esta ciudad.

No tengo mucho espacio para tener un jardín más grande como me gustaría, con más plantas y muchas flores, pero las que tengo, por ahora, me hacen feliz y me permiten disfrutar del placer de cuidarlas, regalarlas y admirar lo bonitas que están. No está escrito que me quedaré sólo con estas, pues siempre quiero una más.
