I am glad you chose to be what you've stated and are still ready to learn as you grow. Staying in such a situation is never nice. No woman or child should stay in a place that doesn't breed respect because, as you've said, children tend to learn from their environment.
And that is partly why some of the children these days have no filter and no respect. We have entered the age where we can say anything and not mind the consequences
